3 Ways To Help Promote ‘Sacrifice’

Substantial’s Sacrifice is officially out now. We get asked “How can we help promote?” all the time, and since sincerely need everyone’s support on this one – here’s your best bet to get the word out about this great album.

1. Spread The Word To Your Friends

This is the #1 best way to help. These people actually give a fuck about what you think, so these are the first people you should recommend music to. First, tell them you’re feeling this new record you just got, then hit them on AIM and send them a song from the album – or send them to Substantial’s MySpace page – or show them the Commercial/Video. They’ll afford you the couple minutes of their life that most strangers wouldn’t off a cold telemarketing call. If they’re being stubborn and don’t want to listen… email them a track. If worse comes to worst, then just give them an ultimatum, where you say “Listen to this or I won’t be your friend anymore!” Ok, that’s a little extreme, but fuck it…your word of mouth is our best weapon against obscurity. Peer pressure rules.

2. Write A Review On Amazon.com & iTunes

Why? Well, often times, people search for records and stumble onto the page of a QN5 artist via recommendations provided by users. If they come to a page without any favorable reviews, they’re less likely to take the next step to listen. All you have to do is login to Amazon or iTunes and add your review. Simple as pie! It’ll make a big difference to new eyeballs. [WRITE REVIEW]

3. Make Your Opinion Heard On Message Boards

Don’t JUST post here. Yes, you can have real-deal civilized discussions about QN5 here, without a doubt. But, if you’re a music fan (and you wouldn’t be here if you weren’t), you’re probably a member of multiple music message board sites. We like to call these “the pitts of the hell”, simply because 99% of them have devolved into “fuck your mother” insult-fests without much real discussion of music itself – but they’re still a good way to get the name out there. ONLY talking about QN5 ON QN5.com doesn’t promote much.

See, If there’s enough chatter about something, people are more likely to chime in on it. Just don’t be surprised when your “This is a dope album” post is met with 4 “fuck your mother this sucks” replies. Don’t mind them, they’re too busy dickriding themselves to actually listen to what they’re talking shit about to begin with. Remember, chatter is chatter. Folks just need to see the name.
