[AUDIO] Kokayi - “Until Now (feat. AP The Prince)” - DAY 59 & February Recap

Posted 3 years, 5 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, 3 hours, 6 minutes ago

Kokayi wasn’t joking or insane when he set out to drop A TRACK A DAY FOR THE ENTIRETY Of 2014. If you’ve been following Koke’s progress on this insane challenge so far, you’ve undoubtedly been amazed at the range displayed in January’s recap, but now as February is over, we’ve born witness to even more eclectic insanity. We’re literally pissed at whoever shortened the month to 28 days, because we’ll be shorted a few more tracks this year

“Until Now (feat. AP The Prince)” is the series’ first featured guest spot of of the year, as fellow DC talent AP The Prince swings through to provide flavor on this infectious single detailing the exploits of your local neighborhood gold digger. Koke provides a punchy psuedo-rock foundation punctuated by distorted bass and organ stabs. You’ll definitely want to hit repeat as soon as it ends.

ALL IN A MONTH’S WORK: FEBRUARY

Plenty of highlights this month – from a lost instrumental from a figurative Wu-Digable-Planet-Clan album in “Hope Road (DAY 58)”, the construction-tinted “996 (DAY 56)”, the lounge-lizard stylings of “Bated Breath (DAY 49)” to the completely off the wall Louisiana Jazz warbling of “Day After A Great Night Theme” – this is seriously starting to get nuts.
