FINALLY! After a series of slight delays, NWL’s Sheisty Khrist releases his debut album, Cold Winter, produced by fellow Kentuckian (and Bourbon aficionado) LoFidel. It’s fucking awesome and you should download it now, because it will enrich your life. We’re not gonna gush anymore though, we’ll let the fellas themselves tell you about it:

COLD WINTER was never about the temperature outside. It is about the temperature of mankind; the temperature of one’s mind, body and spirit. We have worked hard to bring you an album that is thoughtful, difficult, engaging, pure, painful, tragic, sad, and hopeful. This was a difficult undertaking. One that took years to procure and sculpt. A question I’m always asked is “when is Cold Winter coming?”. My reply is always “it’s coming”. Maybe what I should have said is that it was ALWAYS here. Or that it was here BEFORE Lofidel and I recorded our first song together.

Cold Winter is a VISUAL album. Written and recorded to be absorbed through the picture on the cover. As you listen to the record it is vital that you filter it through that child on the cover. Be clear though THIS IS NOT A CHILDREN’S ALBUM. This record doesn’t play nice. It wants your lunch money. It rolls in a pack on the playground. It doesn’t ask for anything – it takes it.

Lastly, this record is an analog piece of art. Designed to sound grimy, gritty, tough, and lofi. Believe it or not it was designed for cassette. It was recorded traditionally through analog machinery. We believe that that adds to its charm. It makes it feel more close to the range of human emotions. It wasn’t designed to be pretty. It was designed to be…cold.

Cold Winter is here. It was always here.
