I enjoyed the line and the album. I don’t really think the name of the rapper should be as much of a factor as it is turning out to be to some people (Common fans perhaps). I think the point of the line/album is to stick to what you say or else you should get called on it. I have the same daily battle every day about this. “Should I call this idiot out on not doing his work but taking credit?” “Should I go around this moron who is causing traffic by being on a cellphone and brake check him?” no one ever does anything about general bullshit because they can’t be bothered to deal with stupidity.hypocrisy/etc. The principle of the fact is being called out (switching up your entire self to make a buck) rather than the artist (Common).

That’s my take….unless Pack hates Common because Pack likes Ice Cube and was offended long ago and that is why he named a song Flux Capacitor so he could go back in time and kill Common. Take your pick…

I think Pack was totally right with his explanation of why he dissed other emcees. These rappers need to be held accountable for what they say, hip hop hypocrites are the worst.

The funny thing is he ain’t even really “diss” Common. He explained that it was no disrespect, but that the game is headed a certain direction. Why can’t people see that?

I’ve had this discussion on several boards, and the general consensus seems to be that Pack is trying to gain attention by “dissing” Common and biting Joe Budden, QN5 is being pretentious and has false sense of accomplishment etc etc etc.

What’s funny these days is that as soon as you voice your opinion on a song and drawing a paralell to another artist, it’s a diss (Like Pack said, which after debating on forums makes it such an even stronger comment to me) which basically makes it impossible to say what you feel unless you tell it like it is… for every other artist too. Which makes it pretty impersonal.

After talking to people about this record I’ve given up on the human population and realized most are either dumb as bricks or shits bricks as soon as an album like this is released.

With all that said, can’t wait to have the physical copy in my hands.

I’ve been down with Common since day one in his carreer, but this “common-diss” (don’t like that name for it) is absolutely on point! Common is still one of my favorites, but that’s for his earlier works..
I Fucking Hate Rappers is a great song that paint the perfect picture of how easy it is to go piss on your principles and sellout, because if you want to be a rap superstar, you’ve better switch up your sound, flow, rhymes, clothes, friends, etc…
But I still digg Common, at least for his many great albums..
And this PackFM dude, that I didn’t know excisted until a year-and-a-half ago is already among my favorite emcees of all time..

Not sure if it needs a response. It’s like Family Guy observing (rather blatantly) that Matthew Mcconaughey is a talentless actor…we all understand where FG is coming from and it’s great the way they went about doing it. Pack is doing the same. Common’s input isn’t needed for the equation at all. and I doubt that is what Pack was/is looking for when he penned the lines either.

The people who don’t want to understand what he’s saying won’t. Easy as that. Meanwhile the fact that this whole thing is being mislabeled as beef will at least allow Pack to get some recognition by neutrals. Win scenario.

This is in the same vein that if you do a google search for qn5, Kno’s letter to Doom is the second thing that pops up.
Cats who get it will wanna hear more.
