Good lyricism should inspire thought and spark discussion. With that said, PackFM’s “I F*cking Hate Rappers” single has been causing quite the stir, particularly regarding the portion of where FMakalishus points the mirror at rap cross-over superstar Common’s career as a reflection of where we are as a culture and the standards we hold our most-acclaimed lyricists to. Writer Andres Tardio of HipHopDX recently gave Pack the opportunity to further explain his position on the matter. Here’s the quote from the song in full:

“If you played Common, NOW, for Common Sense in ’92/
The ‘Bitch In Yoo’ woulda been the ‘Bitch In Yoo Part Two’/
But when the main aim is fame, you can’t kick the same shit/
When no one’s listening, you gotta make some changes/
Pride gets you nowhere. Niggas become shamless/
Used to go against the grain, now you ride the wavelength/
At the end of the day, stand by your statements:
“If I don’t like it…I don’t like it – that don’t mean I’m hating”
PackFM, “I Fucking Hate Rappers”
