[NEWS] QN5 Postpones Annual Megashow To Focus On QK10 Releases

As the title suggests, the next QN5 MEGASHOW will be held in NYC during the Summer of 2011.

We’ve decided to forgo the production of this event for QK10 in order to focus on our ambitious QK10 album release plan. Put simply, in order to execute this plan in full, we’re going to need every ounce of time to do it – ESPECIALLY this summer. The Megashow is a massive multi-month undertaking that would sidetrack us from this goal.

It was a tough decision to make, but one that we feel will be the most beneficial for the music, the label, the artists and of course, all of you. When you feel the full brunt of the forthcoming musical landslide, you’ll see why we did it and we know you’ll agree that it was worth it. Plus, you’ll have 10 brand new QN5 releases to chomp on in throughout the end of QK10 and plenty to memorize for the next QN5 Megashow.

Of course, there’ll be hella shows between now and then (like this one) and album-wise, we’re kicking things off with QK10 #1: PackFM’s ‘I F*cking Hate Rappers’. [PRE-ORDER @ iFuckingHateRappers.com]

With this much lead time, 10 new releases to celebrate and all new material, there will be absolutely NO excuse to miss the next one. Especially considering that it will SMASH 2009’s show.

Definitely expected this, and I agree that I think it’s for the best. I might just see if I can find some sort of way to get myself to Megashow ‘11! (if that’ll be the next one)

Phew, I am actually excited to hear this. Now there is absolutely no doubt that QK10 is not only completely going down, but also something AMAZING to look forward to in QK11.

And shiettt, think of the improvement from the 2007-2009 megashows with 2 years in between. NOW IMAGINE A 2 YEAR IMPROVEMENT ON 2009’s! Sweet Mc Jesus!

This is good news, it really seemed the more likely scenario. This should give more hope to the people who still had some doubts about the label not being able to release all the projects on time. At the same time it gives us PLENTY of time to prepare for 2011’s show.

MAAAAAAAN I’m so happy with the news! Not to take away from ppl who wanted to go this year, but I’m just really relieved to know that QN5 will be focusing purely on the planned releases. And even thinking about a Megashow, although its more than a year away, just makes me smile (especially since Tone’s sayin its gonna SMASH 09’s). Now i have more time to save up for a 2011 NYC trip too, because it was gonna be tight this year. I think this was a wise decision for QN5 and cannot wait to have my brain melt from the musical shockwave thats comin!

I agree with the posts above, it’s for the best since it will allow every release-plan to come out on date and didn’t have enough money to fly out to New York anyway.
At least now I know I’m not gonna miss anything.

Understandable. It had to be either one or the other that’s for sure, and with such an incredible Megashow last year, it just makes the anticipation just that little more exciting.

Besides, I’m gonna be very busy myself this year PretendGirl, Chris and EA knows what I’m talking about!

@ 2 by four ....I’m thinking Tone will probably tell us after IFHR drops. But all in all I think this was a great move. I mean I would’ve found a way to get the $$ together by summer and would be there no doubt but now I have ALOT of time to save meaning my trip will be even better then last time.

Good choice, I think an every other year Megashow schedule would be cool (and easy on my wallet).

Now we just need to hope for 100% of the QK10 plan! And we are just days away from IFHR!

This news is slightly disappointing yet relieving, because I really want to see QK10 unravel itself as planned, and also because I was nowhere near being sure if I would’ve been able to make it again this year. Now not one Blue Schooler really has any excuse for not being able to make it next summer if you start planning ahead NOW (and considering something doesn’t happen to thwart your plan(s) as well). You guys have our support, no worries. And I agree with what 2 by four said in that my trip this next time is also bound to better than last time (hopefully no need to crash with Pretend Girl and the crew again, although I appreciate them for that! ::smiles::).

But now maybe after me and my boo find a new place, we can save up some money to go to the MEGASHOW next year!

Sucks to hear, but had a feeling this was going to be the route QN5 took. I am all for you guys putting your 100% time, money and effort into the releases you have planned this year. We always hear how much Tonedeff works on the MEGASHOW, and if that were to take place, there is no way all the releases would come out.

Saving my money for each release. and for next years MEGASHOW.

^True that. Me and houstonze have already been saving up for this….so to hear that we will have more time to save..means we will have more money, and our next megashow experience will be amazing because….
1. QK10 ftw!
2. We’ll be able to stay more than one night in NYC
3. Which means more time to hang out with blue schoolers
