[NEWS] Welcome To QN5.com (Version 5.0)

What’s good, people! We’ve just had the most eventful Q1 in our history. With 2 music videos from Substantial & CunninLynguists, 2 MySpace features, digital re-releases of our classic 12” singles and EPs like Extended Famm’s Happy F*ck You Songs, the biggest pre-order launches we’ve had yet (Strange Journey Volume One & Mr. SOS’s debut album), a Facebook relaunch, a full European tour, as well as more exclusive songs and videos than ever before – it’s clear we’re on the verge of something BIG. I can certainly feel the energy…can you?

And what better way to commemorate this kind of occasion than to remodel the house we all live in?

The New Blue

As you can see… A LOT has changed. Gone is the clumsy flash nav and archaic HTML frames. Gone is the need for manual section updates and a segregated blog. But most importantly, gone is the need to LURK. Now, you don’t “visit” QN5.com… you JOIN QN5.com.

QN5.com Version 5.0 was crafted from the ground up specifically with blue schoolers in mind. This is a community-driven label, so a community-driven site only made sense. The premise of 5.0 was that we wanted blue schoolers to not have to visit 30 different sites to stay on top of all the happenings. Now, all your favorite QN5 artists are here – in one spot. Also, the ability to research, comment or share your thoughts and interpretations on damn near every bit of content on the site is in place – so use it.

If you think something’s missing, don’t worry – it’s coming — this is just the first round of site updates. Over the coming months, you’ll begin to see more community & forum functions kick in, more ways to interact, more content and even more depth than ever. So, don’t just bookmark the forum and watch from the sidelines – as always, your suggestions will be taken into account and implemented into forthcoming site updates – TALK TO US.

9 Years Strong & Counting

BTW – As of 05.05.09 I can say: “Happy Anniversary!” Has it already been 9 years since the current formation of the camp formed? Wow. Well, since day 1, we’ve worked to position QN5 Music as the premiere multimedia hip hop label. Our artists and producers have always been engaged with the fans on an unprecedented level – constantly providing insight into the process and motivations for what we do, while working tirelessly to give them the ultimate experience. Now that labels are starting to latch on to the same ideas we’ve had since 1997, we’re in the best position possible. Just take a look at our blog archives and ask yourself – What other label has even remotely come close to pulling that level of consistency off? And with the fans in mind? No one else comes to mind.

As a truly DIY operation, I’ve personally always made it a point to stay 5 steps ahead of the game with our marketing strategies to be competitive. But at the center of it all, no matter how much majors and indies spend to get your attention, how many media outlets and connections they have under their belts, QN5 has focused on the two things that matter most: 1) Heartfelt Quality Music and 2) Our Community of Fans.

‘Thank You’s’ Abound

I’d like to give a SUPER-SPECIAL THANKS to Chris Rhee at NeatFocus.com for shaving a couple years off of his life in order to bring this behemoth to life. This was NOT a piece of cake to construct in the least. Also, I’d like to thank the venerable blue schoolers What?, Dwilli and Destructuralized, who contributed their own time and effort to gather and organize the ridiculous amount of assets QN5.com has generated over the past 8 years. So, be sure to give them props when you see ‘em in the skybox.

All in all, I want to thank each and every blue schooler who’s stuck with us thus far. When it was a pain in the ass to track down a physical copy of our releases in stores. Everyone who’s stood waiting through 18 promoter-pushed opening acts to see us rock. Every one who’s ever written in to a magazine to show their appreciation for the coverage. Everyone who’s connected to the music so deeply they felt compelled to immortalize our thoughts as tattoos. Everyone who’s kept the community alive by sharing their thoughts or simply giving props. Basically, to everyone who’s seen the vision and are doing their utmost to support it to its fruition.

This site was built for you. Have fun.

Hollerate,
Tone
