great podcast as always. the intro was too good, made me laugh!

Archetype is one of my personal all time top five. Songs like Children, Porcelain, and Masochist are what got me hooked in the first place and they’re why I still listen today. You mentioned Tech N9ne when you were saying how everybody expects you to just do fast rap stuff, but it’s the same principle for him too. The fast stuff may be what catches your ear at first, but at least for me the deeper more meaningful or story oriented tracks are what keeps me listening

“I’ve had like one person ask me for that [FMania: The Best Of] in the last two years.”

I’m taking that for a shout out Smile

This.
616 Rewind and Love Ain’t were the first songs where I heard Tonedeff and it’s true that your flow caught my ear and I wanted to hear more songs like them but songs like The Distance, No Hope, My lady, Optimist, etc. made me a fan and I agree with Pack about giving the fans a good balance of songs they’re use to like Heavyweight, Case Closed and Quotables (Which are all amazing songs) but also giving them songs that are different and weird

The Yo Pack intro was hilarious

I screamed my face off requesting Here We Go last time Pack came to LA. Not all of us slept on it.

That just highlights what an amazing human being you are, Jill.

Segue: Y’all are funny as hell and pretty good at voicing your opinions without sounding retarded and actually being able to back-up your stance on music and musicians. (that’s a compliment, I swear)

I was thinking about if y’all could get some sorta partnership with 2dopeboyz. Start reviewing albums/singles that get a lot of attention on their site or something like that. Or not, cuz people will send you a ton of spam emails and tweets like they do Shake.. but maybe it could help get the podcast some more recognition (and in turn your music) if that’s a goal for y’all and if it would actually be doable.

Just an idea.

That sounded kinda last to knowish.

my b.

In theory this idea would totally work, but in practice, it’d just open up a galactic wormhole of beefs, diss records and unnecessary drama. As active musicians, it’s not our place to review anything. Rappers aren’t mature enough to process any type of critique from another rapper.

Me: “I feel like the theme of the track gets lost in the 5th verse”.
Rapper: “You hatin on my MOVEMENT, niggggaaaaaa!!! I’ma see you.”

It’d just suck all the fun out of the podcast.

The answer: QN5-judged reality TV competition.

I get so much music spam in my QN5 inbox as it is. The accidental glimpses I’ve caught while trying to delete messages as quickly as possible without looking has already ruined my life.

funniest episode yet! loved the yo pack intro lol

I’m pretty stoked you guys read my question. I had to make an account just to say I fucking love you folks.

Ever though about doing a weekly album mini-review/shoutout from you guys, either classic or current? “Pick of the week” style—I love discovering stuff that was slept on/is being slept on.. (QN5)

Would help those of us more removed from the industry to “dig” - And as you mentioned, QN5 artists have a similar “vibe,” one which i’d bed flows throughout the music you choose to listen to as well.

Not a bad idea. Smile

yo, i’m fucking loving this podcast! Tonedeff, you’re awesome! You and Pack are too good together, and its nice to hear the guys behind the incredible music you make.
Plus, the two of you are hilarious like whaaaat~

and for the record, keep singing, Tone! that peter anthony red shit got me too excited! I was like, who’s that gorgeous voice on that record. i’ve been snoozing for too long.

=] so yeah, good shit!

I agree with the mini review idea but I feel you guys shouldn’t just review hip hop. And I thought the juicy poop shit was hilarious.

Oh btw Tone I think its dope as fuck that your a common fan so I gotta ask what you favorite piece of work by him is. Mine would be resurrection.

That whole artist/fan boundry is a real interesting subject, especialy cause yall have been on both sides of the spectrum, enjoyed that part alot.

Just listened to this, since I missed it, and man, 110% agree with Tone on the whole Common shit, Electric Circus is easily my favorite album by Common. Pack’s a hater son!
