LOL stop! LMAO…you guys are awesome I love it…

Had never listen to it til now, but I must admit I became a fan right after about 2 minutes of PackFM laughing constantly. lmao, Been a fan though of Tonedeff since I first heard Porcelain something like 10 years ago. Big Ups Dudes, I’ll be sure to tune in whenever the next one goes down.

I tried to take you guys up on your AIDs Wikipedia page bet, but sadly the page is locked so you can’t just simply edit it like most pages.

Two words that had me dying: “baseded” and “glucose shock”

I wouldn’t want a Speakerboxx/The Love Below, i want ATLiens!
Seriously though, don’t make a separated episode. You guys together are maaad hilarious

Another great one. I am fully with you on that FOMO shit Tone.

About Girls….

I would have been okay with this entire episode being a rant about that show. It could have flipped Chris Hardwick’s “Talking Dead” into a recap of all the cringe-worthy moments of that series. So, fuck yes.

I listened to the podcast this morning, coincidentally after having the same conversation with my girl last night. The Sex and the City dream has made city life unbearable for me, and most other native New Yorkers. It’s to the point that natives are the minority now, and me being Puerto Rican makes it two-fold. And forget it if you work in a creative field. My girl works in media, and she has co-workers ask her regularly, “So, where you from?” They expect that everyone else came here from the Midwest, too.

The incredulous look on their faces when we say “born and raised” is followed by disappointment. It upsets them because we represent the reality of New York that counters their perception of the New York fantasy. Yes, asshole, we’re damn near 30, still rent small apartments in mediocre Brooklyn neighborhoods, and we haven’t been promoted to Editor-In-Chief, law firm partner, or become the six-figure Director/VP of Anything.

The fact that the show is now validated, to some degree, with a Golden Globe—that The Wire never received—pains me even more. Because it helps sell this illusion that New York is a place where you can find a rundown Brooklyn block and find nothing but other displaced hipsters. It pisses me off that How To Make It In America wasn’t given another shot, and it did a stronger job of showcasing the diversity in New York AND in the creative SoHo spaces.

Last spring, when I found out Donald Glover was joining the cast, I wrote a quick rant on it for HipHopWired—mostly because of my frustration with the NY Post calling him just a “black actor” to counter the diversity issues the show had.

All that said, I watch the show to hate it. Because if I’m living in New York, I must know my opponent. This is enemy occupation.

And Pack mentioned something about a “warehouse party” to Tone that sounded like a reference to the Girls episode where they all get wasted at some rave in Bushwick in a warehouse (again, sans credible minority representation). So Pack watches on the low, too.

I got two dumb questions - feel free to clown on me. Is the live podcast going to be video like Tonedeff did before, or just audio? Also, where will the podcast be streamed from? Thanks. Peace to QN5 and all the Blue Schoolers!

I like how Pack is making fun of Tone for saying he hates designers when Pack is a rapper who put out an album called “I Fucking Hate Rappers”
