I thought I’d highlight some of the interesting posts and discussions that have been going on in the QN5 Forum.

Everyone is a rapper

“Well I wasn’t really into the whole hip hop scene until recently, and I’m still learning… but yea…I love it. But only when its good hip hop.” He look at me and says with a smirk.. “word well I rap too.”

Look for Kno’s re-enactment of the conversation on the second page of the forum topic.

whutduzFMstand4? Lyrics
For a limited time, you can listen to PackFM’s debut album, whutduzFMstand4? in it’s entirety for free on PackFM’s MySpace and you can follow along with the lyrics that were transcribed and posted on the forum by the fans (with corrections by the QN5 artists).

More Music Like ‘Gathered’
It all started with someone asking for recommendations for non-hiphop music after listening to “Gathered” by Tonedeff (who tries to include at least one non-hiphop song on every CD he releases).

As of now, the forum topic has 14 pages with tons of suggestions — many from Tonedeff, himself.

F*ck this, F*ck that, and F*ck you
A true story about a fan having to change out of his “F*ck the 90’s” shirt from QN5 before being able to go through airport security. Kno replies,

Because mainstream America is more concerned with (censored) curse words than they are with political corruption, wars abroad, public school system failure, human rights atrocities and actually communicating with their kids…meanwhile they are having extra-marital affairs, abusing alcohol, doing coke, practicing latent racism etc.

Kno’s Open Letter: Do You Respect Artists and Art?

I’ve noticed a trend, especially in the younger generation, to treat art, especially music, like a double-cheeseburger meal or a pack of trading cards. There doesn’t seem to be any type of grasp on what it takes to put out good, quality music, or the rights of a musician to have that work presented to the public the way THEY want it presented.

This forum post by Kno definitely deserves a second look. Make sure to read the discussion after his original post – Kno takes some time to respond to several posts by the fans.
