Matt Hobbs is a motherfucking beast. His vision is beyond incredible. What an incredible atmosphere for this song.

It’s an overwhelming request to make as a fan, but I’d love to see him interpret the entire Death Is Silent album through video. An anthology of some sort. I feel like he and his team are creative and visual enough to complement the sound perfectly.

Brilliant, I love the symbolic usage of the colour red and the stunning set for the video. Great stuff!

Easily the best video QN5 have ever released. Also, i’m feelin Kno’s whole current style with the longer hair and beard. (Pause).

One thing though, I kinda don’t get why she shoots him, I know thematically with the album it links up (Kno is killed my his fiance in ‘I Wish I Was Dead’), but why in this particular song? The vibe I get is that she rescues him from certain death in the desert, brings him back to health, cleans him up, i’m guessin they get a lil nasty and then he’s like ‘well…see ya, there’s gold to be panned for’ or something along them lines and she doesn’t want to give him up.

Thats what I made of it anyway.

Kno had this to say regarding the video:

“The treatment of the video as I wrote it was to tell the story of what I like to call the “Jesus Complex” in relationships, where people have a tendency to be attracted to those who appear to need help or to have been mistreated by others. We often think our new object of affection is perfect and simply met with a string of bad luck or cold-hearted suitors only to realize that the problem in that person’s past relationships may have been, in fact, that person themselves. If you have issues finding true love maybe YOU’RE the asshole — it isn’t necessarily everyone else’s fault. One to grow on.”

Amazing. I much prefer this to the Graveyard video.

Very illuminating of how the song’s ment to be originally.
Think we all have some kind of individual interpretations but to see a video from the creator really adds new perspectives.
In contrast to the Graveyard Video there is a huge advancement. Keep on going the well minded- and structured Videos, I’ll be enjoying the upcoming stuff!

Btw kinda interesting how you use various stylistic devices and shots, worth watching several times. Goddamn, I could write a lot of more than those poor lines but all I can say is keep up your good work. Good to see some people care ‘bout a certain quality concerning their music.

Really great video…captured the ambiance perfectly.

My only criticism (albeit one of my own interpretation) is the first shot of her holding the gun. I feel as though it doesn’t go with the metaphor of her constantly holding dangerous weapons which are ignored as she’s using them for good reasons (both blades). Mind you I might be reading way too much into it anyway…

Well, to be fair his “team” on this occasion was me and him. I found the shooting locales, hand picked the entire wardrobe, wrote the treatment etc. We co-directed it while the videography and editing is all him. This video was just Matt, Mia and I in the desert of north Cali, basically.

I was inclined to call it a “team” because I didn’t want to sell anyone short who may have contributed. But knowing that the direction was just the two of you is a testament to the overall quality.

As fans, we tend to overestimate resources and think things can be easily executed, but would it be impossible to do a video anthology?

Understanding that there’s no real money in videos and they’re best served as promotional tools, I realize it may not be money well spent. But with this video and the ‘Graveyard’ video feeling so logical and natural, I can’t help but think a video for every song from an independent artist could help create a new lane.

A 41-minute Death Is Silent video movie, made for the internet, broken down song by song for YouTube/Vimeo purposes, and made available for paid HD download or physical SD DVD. (I imagine printing to Blu-Ray is definitely not worth the cost.)

It could be like Kanye’s “Runaway” without the pseudo-intellectual suck.

on twitter or the facebook or the boards i read someone saying that Kno made the album kanye was trying to make. this has some truth to it, but i think it would be a more fitting statement if ye had just released 808’s and heartbreaks. none the less this video is art and should receive the reconition it deserves remains to be seen

Working with Matt and Kno for a weekend was amazing in itself, and I’m more than stoked on the outcome.

As many of you have said before me, Kno deserves so much more recognition than he gets.
