Kokayi’s been a busy boy, traversing the globe to promote his criminally slept-on album, Robots & Dinosaurs. First, he hit up the Sons d’Hiver Festival in Paris France with Pharoahe Monch and Jean Grae, then he took home two DMV Music Awards a couple weeks ago for Best Alternative Artist and Living Legend, and received a killer album review at HipsterOverkill.com.

Now, after tearing down the house at Audible Treats SXSW Showcase in Austin this past weekend, SocietyHae.com caught up to with Kokayi after just getting off-stage, to talk shop at the DMVINCIBLE Showcase. Hustling, indeed. Here, Koke discusses his growth as an artist and how he stays focused in the midst of so many seeking fast fame and fortune.
