iverson really fits into devner’s offense well off the bat….
AND carmello and iverson get a full month to practice together before they take the court together due to the suspension…thats huge
i dont think this gets denver to the nba finals….but…wow…this should be interesting
and the sixers made out about as well as they could have…u got joe smith commin off the salary cap at the end of the year….a very good point gaurd in andre miller…and 2 picks…not too shabby at all for the situation they were kinda forced into
but more importantly…suns 15 games straight…franchise record…bladow!

joe smith is a joke. he already failed here.
andre miller. who? this is allen iverson we talking about here. You better get me a T-Mac, Wade, or Kobe, or James for that.
picks are worthless when Billy King is making decisions.

the point of gettin joe smith is the fact ur gonna get cap room at the end of the year…no one’s expecting him to contribute…..
the situation king was forced into with iverson demanding the trade made getting tmac/wade etc waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of the question…teams knew he was backed into a corner and had to move AI…..no one’s expecting andre miller to be AI…but considering the scenario…it coulda been a lot worse…...
you’re probably right about the picks tho…billy king stinks…i’m def not defnding him….but the way this trade happened…..philly coulda made out waaaaaaaay worse than this….expecting a t mac or a labron is completely unrealistic…...that MIGHT have been a possibility if king moved iverson 3 years ago

I understand the point about King making the decisions…but this is the deepest draft in years…having 3 total first round picks can be huge in a couple of years…talent is amazing this year…

actually the sixers first round pick goes to someone else if its 15 or higher…..i forget who…....
so assuming they don’t make the playoffs…they do have 3 picks
if they do? well..they’ll have 2 picks
this is incentive to not make the playoffs if ur a sixers fan…3 first round picks makes it way easier to trade up and get a shot at gooden….i think thats his name..gooden? i forget..
Yao Ming is out for 6 weeks or something.. hes been killing it this year. Thats going to be huge.
Gilbert Arenas.. I dont think hes human. 60 on the Lakers, 54 on the Suns. and I thought it takes 5???
Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony… Thats #1 and #2 in ppg this season. hopefully their egos dont get into the way and they become something crazy. just think about game ending situations.. too clutch.
Andre Miller.. Hes not THAT bad.. better than that Ollie guy they have. Hes a good pass first PG.
The suns. I really think if they didn’t get stranded in Denver, they’d be 16 or 17 in a row. The starting line up of Nash, Bell, Diaw, Marion, and Stoudamire is deadly and hella fun to watch. great unselfish team ball.
Atlantic Division??? whatever happens there, go Raptors. They are boshless and playing well. If not, than those gangsta ass knicks!!
is it just me, or everytime I turn on the tv, Mehmet Okur has hit a clutch 3 at the end of the game??
If the Knicks keep it up we’ll finally be ridding ourselves of Isiah. I never WANT my team to lose, but knowing he’ll be gone makes it much easier to deal with the losses.
the coach? he aint goin nowhere they just hired the guy….
my guess is artest/magette swap ...but not until closer to the trade deadline….
although i have a feeling pat riley is gonna come out of nowhere and go after both of them too….makin lots of phone calls while he’s layed up with the surgury i garuntee it…that guys a genius
here’s the thing about the knicks….because the atlantic is by far the worst division in sports history at this point….they could fuck up and squeak right into the playoffs fairly easily (assuming the nets don’t pull it together….which i still think they will) ..and if they DO squeak into the playoffs….isiah’s goin nowhere…sad….
and start david lee already….jared jeffries stinks
Yeah I agree, Lee has to start…..Its the tired methodology of the Garden Brass starting the guy who makes more money regardless if the guy backing him up is simply better.
Knick fans wanting the Knicks to lose. What other team can claim such loyal fans?
Sacramento could be winning more games. Shit, we are at least a playoff team. We need that superstar on our team, Kevin Martin just won’t do. In other news, Greg Oden was snubbed.
1. Mike Conley Jr., point guard, Ohio State: He’s not just Oden’s sidekick from high school. Conley, the son of Mike Conley Sr., a 1992 Olympic gold medalist in the triple jump, is becoming a dynamic floor leader for the Buckeyes. With 92 assists and 27 turnovers in 14 games, Conley is taking some pressure off teammate Jamar Butler and allowing him to find his shot more. He’s also finding ways to get to the basket. Conley was very impressive in a home victory over Indiana earlier this week. Against a good defensive team Conley finished with nine points, 10 assists and ZERO turnovers.
2. Kevin Durant, forward, Texas: He’s a lanky 6-foot-9 with incredible versatility. Durant needs to get used to the physical play in the Big 12, but he has been playing more aggressively. What makes him special is his skills at bothends of the floor. Longhorns coach Rick Barnes has him play some on the perimeter, which should be a good preparation for the NBA. He is averaging nearly 22 points and 10 rebounds, and has blocked 27 shots.
3. Brandan Wright, forward, North Carolina: This 6-9, 205-pound lefty has had no problem adjusting to ACC basketball. In two recent Tar Heels victories, Wright made a combined 16 of 19 shots from the floor and averaged 17.5 points. Granted, the wins were against Rutgers and Dayton, but it proved a point—he’s ready for conference play. Wright complements sophomore Tyler Hansbrough and is shooting a scorching 67.4 percent from the field. His main area of focus now should be free throw shooting since he’s at a paltry 61 percent.
4. Tajuan Porter, point guard, Oregon: This Detroiter is right at home with the Ducks and former Renaissance High teammate Malik Hairston. At 5-6, 160 pounds, Porter uses his quickness and creativity to thrive in a free-flowing offense. Porter gets about 30 minutes a game, averages 15 points, nearly three assists and shoots 46 percent from three-point range. The team’s media guide says Porter might have the best shooting range on the team. Porter has started nine of the Ducks’ 13 games. He could have helped Michigan this season, since the Wolverines are still searching for dependable ball handlers.
5. Billy Walker, forward, Kansas State: Finally eligible to play, Walker already has shown what he can do. He’s put on dunking exhibitions and has shown an ability to play some hard-nosed defense. Walker once had 50 points and 25 rebounds in an Ohio high school game and should adjust to the college game rather quickly. He struggled in Wednesday’s loss to Xavier, shooting 4-for-14, but shouldn’t have many poor games the rest of his career. Walker is already known as the most anticipated freshman in the history of Kansas State basketball.
i think that article’s really the opposite of snubbing him…...cuz there’s no need to say he’s an impact freshman…he’s got enough hype…why bother putting him in #1 when everyone knows it..ya know?

Accolades are supposed to go to the the best. Imagine Dwyane Wade getting rookie of the year over Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony because “they got enough hype” and everyone knew they were the best. Many would argue that your logic is exactly how and why Steve Nash got voted MVP last year, but I digress because you ride for the Suns.

Yeah, but why go out of your way to not put him on a list? If it’s that serious make a top ten list. It’s not Oden’s fault he’s a monster at ball. Just the way I see it though.
