The NSFW Rule: (Not Safe For Work)

Any posts that feature any nudity, sex or imagery that would be inappropriate for school or the workplace that do not clearly state “NSFW” in the title will be immediately deleted.

Any user that repeatedly posts these kinds of posts without notifying board members as to the contents in the title, will be banned after 3 violations.

If you use the Firefox browser at work, you might want to look into the AdBlock extension - you can block images from certain web directories or block individual images that you don’t want to see.

I did that for a while then I found this.

Fixes forums by removing avatars, off site images and signatures from sites with the word “forum” or “vbulletin” in their URL. Seems to work quite well with vBulletin and phpBB sites.

This extension is not intended to remove adverts, though it might have that side effect at times. It is intended to remove the clutter that some people feel the need to add to their posts to make them more “individual”, when in fact all that they do is make the forum harder to read.

It is a simple extension - now with basic options to make it slightly more than an “all or nothing” deal. Future versions could add different avatar and signature matches.

i generally think NSFW is a good idea for the topic title but, like it’s been said, there’s a really good chance at least one of the people with nudity in their avatar will post in whatever topic you click on so i don’t really think this rule is too on point. i personally don’t care nor am really tryina hate on it, jus pointin out the meaninglessness really.

I haven’t had time at work to browse the forums recently so I wonder what sparked this? The avatars don’t bug me much cuz they are rather small and much easier to explain that it’s just an avatar…whereas a porn thread…nobody would believe I’m surfing a music forum…

I don’t know where you work, but I think for most people at work, an open clam is NEVER that easy to explain.
