I love the greek images in the second verse, which got me to thinking about the ‘singing Sirens.’ Of course alluding to the ladies in the Odyssey, but also I thought about police/ambulances.

Is the narrator about to kill his wife for ‘slyly’ tricking her mate into having a child?

This is a good theory. I have a couple of my own…

-His mother died when he was young, perhaps while giving birth or just after (he’s “alive in lieu of [his mother]”) and if that’s the case, maybe the same happens to his wife…this probably doesn’t hold up though because he says “i can barely remember you tucking me in” so she’d have to be alive at some point during his life.

-Or going along with your theory, perhaps his dad was responsible for his mom’s death and he will do the same

-His father and mother got into fights and she “saw her chance” to take her own life, I’m assuming. Perhaps he is going to do the same to himself rather than kill his wife.

This song is absolutely fucking incredible. And what makes it really great is that there are no swear words in it, so this is like the one truly awesome rap song I can let my whole family listen to without worrying about them getting offended. I obviously can’t even keep swear words out of this short post, so to do it in a whole song is impressive.
