**Cunninlyguists/ QN5 East Cast Tour rolled thru Ohio last night at Oberlin College, I had the pleasure of seeing half the QN5 roster rock the stage so here’s how it went.

Aight first off, I never been out by this college before but it was at some little spot on campus called the disco or some shit, the beers were cheap, it was cool, besides all the tight pants wearing emo college kids, which was still good for a laugh, I guess. Anyways back to the show doors opened at about 9, the dj was spinnin some older tracks, by Redman, De La Soul, Mos Def, etc. and then before you know it, Substantial hit the stage! Now Ive been hip to Stan ever since the Extended Famm album years back, but I’ll be honest out of that group of 4, he used to have the least appeal to me, he had good punchlines, and that was it, basically, I just thought lacked a little bit compared to the other members. Well last night my impression of him changed for sure. He definitely has matured as an artist and has a wide a range of subject matter on his tracks, and had a really live stage show.

Then the boy Pack FM came out and they rapped a little together. They did their classic verses from the DJ JS-1 and EFamm song, “Arrogant”, and then Pack took over the stage. First off let me say that FMakalishus aka Pack FM, is one funny muhfucka. He had tons of energy and the dudes flow was flawless, it was funny cuz there was some dumb whores in the front of the crowd who probably didn’t even know who he was and they were dancing all corny, and he seemed vexxed like they were kinda takin attention away from the show. So what Pack did was funny cuz he brought one of dem blonde attention whores on the stage like he was bout to rap to her or have her dance, or whatever, instead he just clowned her and walked her to the side of stage and made her sit over there, you mighta had to be there, but then again I was drunk and I thought it was hilarous! But yeah, overall Packs performance was dope, again he didn’t appeal to me much when he came out, but watching him rip last night, I thought to myself, like wow, this guy is definietly one of the best up and coming rappers in the game.

Alright, so finally Pack rapped his show up and not even a few minutes later this big dude walks up right next to with a hood on and a baseball bat in his hand. So dude hops up on the stage and I realise it’s Natti of Cunninlynguists, using a ball bat as a pimp cane, singing the first track off of Dirty Acres, the crowd went nuts and if you know that beat, you know it gets you pumped, the first time I ever heard it I said to myself, this would probably be raw to see live! So then Deacon and Kno hopped on the stage and started merkin it with tons of energy, they ran thru classics, old and new, some of my personal favorites like Seasons, Hourglass, etc. I was bugging out, Deacon sounded a little bit like Kool G Rap live to me, all I know is his voice sounded raw, I think him and Pack were the best live, overall. The show started was just about rapped up, so I went and talked to Substantial & Pack FM, and they were real cool, humble dudes, and I let em know the show was sick. Ended up picking up the new Substantial album Sacrifice, I’d been meaning to check this and after the show, I was sold, for sure. Also picked up the new Best of Pack FM CD + DVD, and also got hooked up with a free Dirty Acres poster, which I got signed by all 3 members of the Lynguists, after they finally got off the stage who were all real cool to, got a minute to talk to Kno, let him know I think he’s one of the best producers in the game, managed to pass him off a copy of my cd, and he said he’d check it on there way up the coast to Canada, and you know maybe he will, maybe he won’t but at least he seemed real cool and down to earth.

So overall the show was a solid 3 act performance, from one of the freshest, most professional labels, crews. in the fuckin game. Nuff respect to the whole QN5 crew for real, wish Tonedeff could’ve been there, but his boys are definetly holdin the crew down.

And oh yeah, for anyone who’s interested, heads better get ready cuz I heard from two very reliable sources that SESSION is working on a new album that’s supposed to be on some other shit so I hope this is the case, I’ve been waiting on that

thanks for reposting that review worm. i don’t check the ughh boards so i would never have seen it.

anyway, reading that makes me really excited! it’s great to hear that the show ran so smoothly and promptly. one artist coming on right after another is pretty freaking rare and impressive. and the possibility of a best of pack cd/dvd and dirty acres poster makes me super excited on the merch front.

what said:thanks for reposting that review worm.
