Why do I feel guilty asking about this? Do you think there’ll ever be an Asterisk 5? I know you guys got a crazy work load ahead of you now, but I’m just sayin maybe sometime in the future.
I’d think not for a while, as everyone on QN5 seems to be busy at work with their projects (which means a good 2009 ), so I’d think *5 would come out around 2010 or so.
I think it’d be a good idea to get out the new CL, SOS, Session, Pack, and CATM albums (or EP’s in Pack’s case) first.. then maybe do an Asterisk 5 later on with maybe some previews from the next wave of music like how Asterisk 1 and 2 had new music from future projects.. or something.
I was always wondering about Asterisk 5, and for some reason I always thought if it was ever made it would be annouced as the last QN5 mixtape (from the Asterisk’s series atleast*)
I like when artists release alot of material. Like stuff They didn’t put on their albums for whatever reason. I think it is better when the artist himself releases it rather than what happened with tupac where other people released it and put their own spin on it. Life is short. Release what you have.

It’s called quality control.
That and I remember Kno saying they (the Cunninlynguists at least) don’t finish songs that they either won’t use on a project or if they think it is not up to standard (which then would not be used on a project).

I agree that sometimes artists don’t always know what the fans will like. Like a song they think is pretty shit might be popular. Has happened to alot of big songs. But I guess if an artist dont like it and dont want it to see the light of the day then that his choice. After all what he puts out reflects on him. I guess not an easy choice.
I’ve heard a few other artists echoing similar sentiments.

Sometimes a song goes unfinished because it just doesn’t click or feel right. The good news is that if said material is unreleased, artists can reuse material from that project whether it be a line, a verse, a melody, an idea, or the whole beat. It’s all about making sure your concepts are presented in the right way.
