i havent been listening to hip hop much the last couple of years but still listened to my few favourite hip hop artists (cunninlynguists being the main one) so i havent been looking on the internet much so seeing this had been released was a suprise so i brought it anyway and its really sparked my love for cunninlynguists back up again.
this has got some of there best tracks on here,its great.

All this talk about SJV2 but i’m not done with this one yet lol. This album still surprises me on a daily basis and Tonedeff’s ‘The Distance’ still hasn’t fully sunk in yet lol.

12 tracks of pure genius (not including the 3 skits and live track)

Songs ranked:

1) Never Come Down (The Brownie Song) - This song is just too fun to not be loved. I think i’ve heard it at least 200 times and it isn’t old.

2) Don’t Leave (When Winter Comes) - I wasn’t sure if Slug would work, got damn, I could hear a whole album from this collabo. This song is probabily the most stirring since ‘Georgia’. Natti kicks ass again here.

3) Nothing But Strangeness - Alot of people rank this pretty lowly but I really like it, I could listen to it all day in fact. It doesn’t have the prowess of some tracks but it makes up with fun. The ‘Shit’ verse perplexes me though.

4) Die For You - SOS is NIIICE on this track, and I probabily feel it more than nearly anything on How I Learned….kinda like ‘Rain pt. 2’, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Excellent chorus by Kno.

5) Spark My Soul - Inverse are nice but Substantial kills this. This verse is just totally awe inspiring. It was one of my least favorites at first but made its way up slowly.

6) KKKY (Remix) - I really like this remix, this will probabily get some stick, but I actually like this better than the original. The way the beat breaks down in the middle is hotness.

7) The Distance - This still hasn’t sunk in properly and could be one of my top 3 at some point but every time I play it I find myself de-layering the beat instead of listening to Tone.

Cool Dance For Me (Remix) - I’m not a big fan of the original. I’m not saying its bad, CL dont really do bad, but it’s bottom 3 on DA. This remix is better but it’s still not my favorite. I couldn’t tell you why.

9) Move - I don’t get it. I see a lot of people putting this on top 10 lists and shit. Maybe i’ve just not been paying attention but it’s only ‘good’ (ie. I wouldn’t really consider it top 30). Some nice verses though.

10) Broken Van (Thinking of You) - Deacon is fire on this joint and its a good way to finish the album, not a show stopper sure, but definitely very nice.

11) Hypnotized - I really don’t like this song, I don’t know why, i’ve been wanting to hear some Pack and CL for a while and Pack’s verse is hot, I just dont feel it like others.

12) Georgia (Remix) - I just think I hold the original in such high regard that this would never come close.

That being said, the worst song is better than most things out there.

Overall : 4.75/5. Perhaps not as ‘good’ as APOS or DA but will probabily have more ‘go-to’ songs for years to come.
