SJV1 and 2 came out this year. A Substantial project and Dr. Strangelove, and there’s also promise of IFHR sometime in the future. I’d like to say that we’ve gotten so, but we’re still being spoiled on QN5 releases.
This project was announced back when Sloppy Seconds Volume 1 was released. What is that, damn near 7 years ago? This is Tonedeff’s second LP, and as far as I know, Kno’s first LP that he wasn’t doing as part of The Cunninlynguists. We’ll just say that it’s a noteworthy occasion. And as far as we know, most of the “press” on the album comes in the form of clues on the message board and a twitter page. Granted, they are working on the album and hope to have it finished by the end of this year, but I doubt that they’re going to finish it, press it, and have pre-orders sent out before 2010. It’d be real fuckin’ nice to get that jump on this LP, but I can say that I don’t mind if there are a couple of interviews, a single, and a video out for Chico and The Man so that more than just the Auralarians know about the release.
So getting it in 09 would be hot, but a spring (or even a little later) release wouldn’t be completely surprising.
^ I definitely feel you about giving it some time & attention with interviews, single, etc. I just honestly think that after putting out “Winter 2009” at the Megashow and shit that they’d REALLY push for the 2009 release. Along with the statements about putting a lot of work and money into the project, so I don’t really expect it to be like other ones.. at all. Completely different situation musically, financially, etc. I doubt it’ll be out in the Spring time though.. if anything late winter going into January/February if the “Winter 2009” thing doesn’t work out.
i would say you underestimate the six years this album has been in the making, as these years have led to more that auralians waiting for this album.
to establish a buzz for this album, i would say they need to drop the video and AFTER the album has come out they could leak (is it then still leaking) some songs, but i doubt they would do it before the album was out, they want it to be one piece too much to do that.
if they do not get it out in 2009, its because they cannot. but i would go with houstonz as far as janurary/feburary would be the options.

seems Tone got delayed by BS and paperwork he had to fill out and with Kno touring right now he said he wouldn’t even have time to mix it until next year anyways when they take their year break from touring
he also said CATM is probably the best/favorite thing he’s ever worked on

Maybe he was just messing with you. Wasn’t it said that this album is for sure 100% absolutely coming out this year or it wasn’t ever coming out at all?
If it’s not coming out this year then I predict a December 2012 release date. The awesomeness of this album explodes the world, just as the Mayans predicted.
