Thanks to everyone who followed along @bloodsupply on twitter during the days leading up to the website re-launch!
I’m debating on whether to keep the updates going on twitter, on a different section of QN5.com, these forums, or whether to write “mini-progress” updates at all.
Over the next few days, I’ll experiment with posting my progress updates + random musings to this forum topic and see how that works out.
i was thinking it would be cool to have a little section on the right side of the main page with all the most recent additions and updates, like anytime a new song or video is posted, or a new feature or whatever
Isn’t this topic called, ”CHRIS on QN5.com”? Totally kidding—I’m listening to everything everyone’s saying, but please keep in mind that our to-do list is massive.
Just fixed something so that everyone could get some good news tomorrow…
TIP: If you’re sharing a song page with a friend and want the song to automatically play when the page loads (like a youtube video), add “?autoplay” to the end of the web address.
All links to our old blog (blog.qn5.com) now point to the correct blog entry on our new site. Need to do the same for the old forums, but have absolutely no idea how I’m going to accomplish that.
After completely destroying the site for 2 minutes, all the smileys have been restored. The “smiley picker” (when adding new comments) will be added in a future update.
What about showing a link to the forum that is being viewed?
Like, I’m in the CL forum, looking at a topic. I want to go back to the CL forum and not to the (all) Forum index. Is it going to be fixed?
Hopefully, I made the right decision to prioritize an update to the site that allowed for a brand new music video to be released, instead of worrying about animeman’s post count.
(Post counts/profiles/etc are coming soon. But first up is an update to the comments functionality that is used through-out the site.)
I’m excited to hear the new homepage beats whenever they’re up and running. I’m listening to a few of the old ones I recorded and those were super ill..
UPDATE: After a lot of fun with the database, The Graduate’s Lounge is back in action for members with 2,000+ forum posts. This is the first of several member groups being added to the site, so help me beta test: If you’re a Graduate and notice anything fucked with the site, email: chris@qn5.com
I thought I remember QN5 mentioning something about new beats as well. Doesn’t matter though. There is enough content to enjoy without needing background beats. And I suppose, it’s time to start commenting on every video, song, blog out there. LOL.
Fixed up some bugs on the forum (some of the page titles were fucked and settings were all out of whack). I know there’s still some problems with longer forum posts that got cut-off during the data migration. Trying to figure out how to automate a fix for this… Same with a bunch of “EZCODE” text scattered around from the older old forum.
Site may have been slow the past 45 minutes. I was making massive rewrites to the database. Luckily, no one was awake except me.
Cleaned up the “EZCODE” shit. The issue with some posts being cut-off isn’t because of the length of the post… It’s because of reasons unknown. (Great.)
