QN5 Music

The worst music ever to me right now is that “Crunk Core”/“Screamo” music that’s relatively popular. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8F5YSA1Oz0 . Even if I hated the Kesha song, it would still be way better to me than that.

That is indeed one mind-boggling review. It particularly stood out to me ‘cause it was the first one I’d ever read where the reviewer actually praised something BECAUSE they found it to be ‘awful and repulsive’. Yeah…that makes sense…

I go out a lot…so I’m sure I heard whatever ‘Tick Tock’ is…but if I have I either don’t care or it doesn’t appeal to me to go out and find out about it or buy it. I mean. Come on. Is anybody really that surprised by this? We’re talking about a medium that, by definition, spews the exact same forty tracks at its listeners for months on end. It’s not that difficult to tune out; as a matter of fact, I’d argue that tuning out is the most reasonable of the two alternatives. Why are you giving these dickholes your advertising money?

This isn’t an “anti-mainstream” rant, either. I just don’t see the value in subjecting myself to music that I haven’t picked out personally anymore. We’ve gotten to the point where listeners can and should become their own gatekeepers. Find a blog that fits your tastes and expands your horizons on Hypemachine. Get a Pandora account. Find what you love, and support it in stores or in concert.

There’s no dirth of good music out there. You just have to look.

Admittedly I’ve been on more of an electronica/indie kick lately, but since the OP was ranting about a new pop artist I figure my thoughts are still topical. Can’t really speak on hip-hop blogs.

This is what happens in a world without irony. Music is produced without any sort of introspection, and the masses think that music from someone like Lady Gaga is “edgy”. SMH

haha exactly. and it has 2.5 MILLION views. Kesha doesn’t give me that reaction it’s giving all of you of “OMG end of the world worst music of all time”, but that type of music does.

they’re just trying to cross genres and make something new. same as QN5.
