Making that kind of list is just impossible for me, but Love Ain’t is definitely my favorite, and probably my favorite rap song ever just in general. I love CL but Tonedeff completely steals the show on that song. Rain, Doin Alright, Nothing to Give, America Loves Gangsters, Things I Dream, Georgia are also awesome. I think I’m the only person here to have never heard Strange Journey Vol 1 or 2. Up until a few days ago, I was under the impression that it was just instrumentals for some reason. I really need to listen to that, it seems like everyone here really loves SJ.

I’d love to heard Strange Journey for the first time again!
I don’t have much to say about this one apart from 1) It’s beautiful and 2) It’s criminally overlooked for being on SSV2. Everyone needs this song in their life, I could quite easily play it all day. Probabily deserves to be higher actually.
I’m glad you highlighted this song. it’s one of my top 5 CL tracks. I threw it on a mixtape a few years ago and was surprised by how many people went out of their way to inquire about who was behind the track.
I’d love to pick it up but it seems like I’m too late at this point. None of the stores around here carry it anymore. I would just get it online, but that requires a credit card, and since I’m a teenager (goddamnit) I have to run an online purchase by a parent. They wouldn’t be very thrilled about me getting a CD by a group called “CunninLynguists” because they’re like that.

lol, well you could get an itunes gift card at a store then use that to buy it on itunes
or they might even have an amazon gift card so you can get physical copies
most local record stores would also more than likely be glad to order it for you
Apparently Rite-Aid carries amazon gift cards. I just might do that, and it’s so deliciously counter-intuitive I love it. I just have to get the mail without anyone seeing me sneak CDs back to my room.

Cornasto is such a nice track.. Deacon kills that shit.. and the instrumental is one of those beats that could go on forever & I wouldn’t mind. I never really listened to the vinyl cracking on it until recently.. the vibe of that track is undeniable & makes deciding “which CL album has the best intro” even harder..
Whenever I make mixes for friends or myself, a CL intro track usually goes on there first..
This is seriously practically impossible, but here goes:
1. The Light
2. Mexico
3. Things I Dream
4. What’ll You Do
5. Brain Cell
6. Nothing to Give
7. Hourglass
8. Caved In
9. Be Free (Remix)
10. To Be For Real
11. Move
12. Valley of Death
13. Nothing but Strangeness
14. War/Karma (I forgot about this, but it’s near the top)
15. Mic Like a Memory
This list sucks, seriously I can think of like 50 more songs I’d like to put on here.
1) Brain Cell
2) Spark My Soul (produced by Kno)
3) The Gates
4) Dirty Acres
5) Appreciation
6) Mexico
7) Nothing To Give Georgia
9) K.K.K.Y.
10) Lynguistics
11) Seasons
12) Never Come Down
13) What’ll You Do?
14) Caved In
15) Broken Van
This group has made such unbelievable music that has had such an impact on me…
in no particular order
beautiful girl
W.C.G
things i dream
thugged out since cub scouts
don’t leave
what’ll you do
nasty filthy
love aint

nothing to give

dance for me
mexico
1) Seasons
Masta Ace has always been one of my favorites and this is my favorite verse by him. Everyone else kills it as well.
2) Love Aint
Tonedeff’s rhyming, flow, wordplay…everything is flawless by him. The sampled hook fits perfectly. Deacon and Kno kill it. Seriously I could almost consider all three of the verses the best these guys have ever done.
3) Mic Like A Memory
This is the song that got me into CL. When I first heard it, it had about 100 plays within that week. I don’t even know who Kory Calico is, but he is great on this. “Forced to play tarzan in this concrete jungle.”
4) Cornasto
So smooth and vastly underrated. I don’t think I could ever get tired of it.
5) The Light
Perfect end to a perfect album.
6) Remember Me
I know it’s an instrumental, but it’s amazing and gets overlooked.
7) Nothing To Give
Could have been number 1. Probably my most played song by them. So cinematic and raw. Georgia
Great song. Super emotional.
9) Fear
Underrated because it’s on Sloppy Seconds Vol. 2, but it’s so sick. Really an ominous and somewhat inspirational track.
10) Things I Dream
I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to Kno’s verse alone about 300 times.
11) Beautiful Girl
Extended weed metaphors can’t go wrong.
12) Doing Alright
Optimistic and it’s my favorite SOS track.
13) Mexico
Ear sex.
14) The Gates
The back and forth between tone and deacon is perfect.
15) What they Playin’ (Blow My High)
Kind of an odd choice, but I’ve always had a love for this song. It just makes me happy.
