It’s going to be this December for sure, so let’s guess what day. Most likely a Tuesday for obvious reasons. So that leaves us with these dates:

Dec 7th, 14th, 21st, or the 28th.

Hmm, my guess would be the 21st, 12/21/10, 3rd week of December, not too early, not too late.

What day do you guys think it will drop? Let the anticipation build!!

14th.. so they can be in my mailbox before Christmas

I don’t think it’ll be 21st. Too close to Christmas. Nothing of note gets released on the 28th, so i’m thinking perhaps the 14th as well.

Anybody know how far along Tone is, like is he still writing? Is it recorded? Mixing? etc. I never see anything about it on Twitter just that Tone updates that he’s writing from time to time but he never says what for.

I’m thinking it’s done, just waiting to get released and preparing for all the extra goodies and DVD with it. It would be good to know the official status of it though.

14th for the win, perfect for Christmas. Me and my friend were thinking though, if the Rage and Paleo packs come with all this cool shit, just IMAGINE what CATM will come with. I am gonna assume the answers to life and a tshirt.

I’m not in the digging mood, but I think Kno mentioned that CATM will be backed by CL’s new Traffic Ent. distro the same way his solo is. So, if things work similarly, we should start getting some news on the final stretch to its release a couple months ahead of release (a.k.a. October).

Hopefully we get some new Work For It clues around then if not earlier.

So not only digital, but pre-order as well. So digital will drop early December, and then 2 weeks later the pre-orders will be sent out. That’s why I was guessing 12/21 for the physicals.

Or since we have seen 3 weeks gap since digital to physical (In both IFHR and RnD), it could be a Dec 7th digital release, then Dec 28th physical.

OR, worst case scenario, the digital drops in December while the physical pre-orders get pushed into January.

I hope its physicals before Xmas. I was planning on handing them out as xmas presents…

You know, I’m still wondering when we’re going to have some more clues…

I say the next clue should just be the single and video lol.

Not to mention there is NO WAY my first listen to Chico and the Man can be on the poor quality mp3 format. If it’s digital only then there needs to be a way I can buy it in flac, wav, or any other lossless format.

As long as I get it this year. I really couldn’t care when it comes out haha. I don’t think the world is ready though.

I’m still standing by my pledge to get a CATM related tattoo if it comes out physically this year.

When you say digital and pre-orders you mean digital and a limited physical release straight from QN5 and then when distributors see how well it does there’ll be the re-release?

Still, this is Chico and the freakin’ Man we’re talking about here. The wait and anticipation are legendary. That physical CD arriving would give it that extra oomph. With something this epic, a digital-only release seems so anti-climactic unless it comes with some ridiculous perks that are mind-blowing. Not to mention I’m going put up a challenge that any one of my friends that buys this CD and doesn’t love it, I’ll buy it back from them. That could only apply to physical copies though, not like I’d buy a bunch of digital copies of what I already have.

I’ll put up the cost of a Special-Whatever-Edition of CATM on the album dropping on the 14th. Any takers? lol

Agreed, and I am also doing the same thing with my friends for this release. Force them to buy it and guarantee they will like it or else I will just buy it back from them.

At this point I’m actually enjoying the anticipation. Once the anticipation of something starts to feel finite I find it enjoyable more than antagonizing. Kind of like being next in line for a roller coaster. When you’re in the back of the line with an hour to wait it’s annoying, but once you’re right up front the remaining wait turns to excitement and that’s where I am with the album right now.

I’ll be there when the pre-orders start, right now I’m just really hoping that roller coaster gets completed on time without more tornadoes rolling through to halt construction. It is faster than what physics currently thinks is possible after all, so I expect delays can happen when being the first to go to warp speed.
