Wow, I’m late to the party on this, it looks like, but you have all done a fantastic job. Props to finding http://www.oceanblood.com, that was a real catch. Just some thoughts that I had while reading through that nobody else had mentioned.

Perhaps a metaphor for the music industry? [Digs into “Politics”] People assume that music is only good if the “sun” / major label sources / reviewers say that it is. The industry is the power of the sun, and QN5 is a sea vent, fostering new life / music without the sun / industry’s help.
Re: The Black Tide twitter -
This album was brought to you by the letter ‘B’.
“My ebb and flow draws control, leading you to it.” “Willing prey seeks the predator.”
These could mean that willing prey (that’s us!) seek the album, which will consume us (it already has, dammit!) and Tone’s ebb and flow of clues takes away our control.
“Born from the belly of blackness” <- Life from a seabed vent. At that depth, sunlight does not penetrate.
“bellow of the beast”—The Black Tide account is possibly the voice of the album (beast).
Re: Black Tide / White Mariposa being at war -
Perhaps less war than a yin / yang duality? The sea, femininity, birth / death, none of these or the other images we’ve seen so far have been depicted as violent. Thus, bringing the idea of war in at this point seems a little bit contradictory.
I think we should probably not overthink the painting(s) until we have the next clue. I mean, if each clue leads to the next, and if Tone already says we’ve solved it, there’s little to be gained by speculating until we have a more concrete direction in which to aim our massive guns of communal knowledge.
Also, just noticed this in the bito.html source, but the English word “acquisition” is spelled with a C. In Spanish, “adquisición”, but Google Translate accepts “aquisition” as a spelling of the French word for acquisition. Is there now a French influence in the Cuban-themed album? Or did Tone just forget to run spellcheck? Well, they were in the Louvre…
Be careful, folks. One little spelling error and we might all go merrily down the wrong path.
