General Discussion The gaming thread

I’ve got it and I love it. It’s one of the hardest games I’ve ever played. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re naturally good at video games. You won’t get your money’s worth otherwise.

I like advanced video games.

Eh, I suck horribly at video games. I think it would piss me off more than anything. I’ll probably rent it from redbox instead. Guess the next game I’m getting will be max payne 3 in march, even though I haven’t played the first two. Hopefully they release them on psn at some point.

Getting the Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition or whatever they’re calling it that includes all the DLC in February.

chea

Just wanna let everyone know they have Mega Man X for iOS and its fucking awesome. They re-skinned the whole game and it looks amazing and plays quite smoothly. Check it out!

this just dropped, for anyone interested in turn-based strategy with a fantasy flavor.

free to play.
second “race” (dark elf) is unlocked at 99 cents.
typical freemium vanity stuff you’ll never need ranges from 99 cents to $2.99

I picked up Dues Ex: Human Revolution on a steam sale thanks to nitroxide’s recommendation and I’m digging it for sure. Took a while to get used to the deadly sneakiness but it’s addicting now. If they port Dark Souls to pc I’ll check it out I’ve seen some people play it and it’s brutal.

And yo, if you haven’t gotten Baman Arkham City. DON’T. Thousands of people have lost their save files, myself included (twice) and the developer’s reaction has driven us to try to start a boycott until its patched. Yeah.

Bout to throw it in and check mine…unless it’s a pc only/steam problem?

Mainly it’s the god-awful Games For Windows Live overlay. So yeah pc is affected most but I have heard of it happening on consoles too, just less frequently.

Definitely picking up the jak and daxter collection feb 7th. I loved those games when I was younger.

waitn on that new resident evil that comes out next month….disappointed by Asura’s Wraths lack of well a game( 2hrs of gameplay really…then mostly qte and cutscenes whata let down and now post launch dlc ughhh sign of the times).....I swear why does it feel like morons surround the gaming industry now…

not to rain on ur parade but i heard the new RE isnt supposed to be good. That said, RE6 looks fucking insane, but thats not till the fall.

^yeah I know Re :ORC wont be like a giant leap like 4 was to 3, or how good 5 was..but I think it will still be kinda cool…But yeah RE6 looks insane .I just bought that Alan Wake New Nightmare on the xbla..so Im sure that, bastion will keep me entertained for a lil while

RE:ORC I’m unsure about. In terms of reviews I’m expecting around the 7/8 mark.. but could see it being a flop as well.

RE:6 on the other hand looks pretty promising. Really glad they seem to be taking (at least some of) it back to a city type location. I really feel like they should take the control schemes of 4/5 back to the setting of the original 3. Bring the horror element back to it.

Other games on the horizon: SpecOps: The Line, SSX, Far Cry 3, Fifa Street, Alien: CM, Rainbow Six Patriots, Counter Strike GO and Street Fighter x Tekken.

Playing now: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Pretty decent, blitzed it a bit too fast but is like a decent compromise between Elder Scrolls and Fable.

Picked up a vita today. Got uncharted, wipeout, modnation racers and lumines.

^^^^^ oh shit revolutinary war time period? Fuckin awesome. Looks native american

^^ is that a real poster or a mock up? Looks pretty damn sweet. I got Just Cause 2 on a steam sale and it’s like all the outrageous rampages in GTA but that’s what they expect you to do…all the time…and you have a grappling hook and parachute…at all times.

^^ I can’t wait for this to come out!

It’s real. It’s the cover for the march issue of game informer. I’m excited for it even though I didn’t care for the last two ac games. Ac 2 is actually the only game in the series that I really like.

Yeah it’s definitely legit and definitely looks dope. I HATED the first AC, loved the second one, but by the end of brotherhood was tired enough to not get revelations. This little reveal today will probably get me to pick it up tho.

. I’m like you, the spin offs tired me out on the series. Didn’t like them nearly as much as 2. I have high hopes for 3 though with the new setting and all…and the combat could use some improvement.

Only played AC1 + AC2.. not BH or RV

Anyone getting the new SSX? Played the demo and loved it, gonna pick it up tomorrow on release day.

New assassin’s creed details and screenshots

http://gamingbolt.com/assassins-creed-3-info-blowout-new-engine-protagonist-information-new-camera-animus-3-0

We have a ton of details on Assassin’s Creed III for you courtesy of Game Informer, and it looks like this is shaping up to be the best Assassin’s Creed yet.

The goal of the development team was to stay true to the franchise, and try something new with the game as well. That’s obvious, since this is a mainline Assassin’s Creed game.

-There will be brand new environments and all-new ways to exploit them to your advantage, according to the creative director Alex Hutchinson.

-The cinematic presentations will extend beyond combat into a complex way of storytelling. The game will have actually have the Mohawk language in some scenes. Mohawk was the language of the native Americans.

-The development cycle was the longest compared to any Assassin’s Creed game. It seems the game was developed simultaneously with the other spin-offs (Brotherhood and Revelations). According to Ubisoft’s CEO, AC3 has been in development for three years.

-They game tells a story of Templars vs Americans. It’s not about winning the war, but a story based on the main protagonist’s life.

-The game will feature a new camera, which focuses on the best possible view of the action.

-The game runs on a brand new version of the Anvil engine.

-The new Assassin is the son of a Native American woman and a British soldier. He calls himself Connor, but his birth name is Ratohnhaké:ton. Born into the Mohawk, he eventually crosses paths with the Assassins in his search for righteousness.

- Connor is quiet and stoic, letting actions speak for himself rather than conversing with others. In contrast to Ezio, Connor is a freedom fighter who acts in the name of justice rather than on personal revenge.

- Settings will include Boston, New York and a large countryside. The countryside will be the setting of about 1/3 of the game, and will be the location of many events during the game. The countryside will be about 1.5 times as big as Rome in Brotherhood.

- The protagonist will fight on the American side, with primary allies being George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Charles Lee. However, this does not mean that the Americans are the good guys and the British are the bad guys. Templars are everywhere…

- There will be seasons in the game, meaning that the sun will shine during summer and the landscape will be covered in snow during winter.

- Fighting and stealth will be completely re-innovated, with Connor being compared to a “predator”. The player will be able to climb trees and other natural elements, and dual-wielding weapons such as a dagger and a mohawk is now also an option.

- Animals will be present in the woods, like deer and bears. The player will be able to kill them and pelt their skins, to sell them later with the reformed economic system of the game.

- There will be puzzles similar to The Truth, only they will not be given by Subject 16.

- Desmond will go into the new Animus 3.0 and will find himself going into “significant events”.

- 100% sync in memories returns, though this time you will be rewarded when you complete memories to 100%. Checkpoints will also be introduced to mission replay, meaning you don’t have to replay an entire mission to get that 100% sync.

- The Brotherhood, or the Assassin’s Guild, will return in some form, albeit differently than we have seen before.

- There will be no more Mercenaries, Thieves, Courtesans, Romani or other factions, but there will be a replacement for them.

- Den Defense will not return.

SSX is FAST! Great game, all around.
The way multiplayer is handled is a little odd, but they still manage to keep in the competition. You play against ghost times and scores of the people you have added, and get credits if you beat them.

Not exactly the same as the old ones, but I think it’s a welcome addition to the series. I’m loving everything about it so far.

Sorry for the assassin’s creed overload, this game has me hyped though Smile easily my most anticipated game this year. Really happy they’re revamping the combat. No more lock on target ftw.
