Arrived today! Just playing a few tracks in my lunch-break, it sounds great.

I’m afraid I’m not familiar with their work, so can’t compare it to other releases. But if they’re of this standard or better, I’m sure I’ll be checking them out!

Check out illadelph halflife. Easily their best imo.

The Roots are consistent. Check out any one of their albums. ‘Things Fall Apart’ is when I started listening to them and they are easily one of my all-time favorite groups.

I like undun a lot, I think somewhere around the 4th or 5th playthrough it clicked for me. I would say this is my favorite from them in a while, and they tried something different.

So after several listens I like it…but have at least two pretty massive problems with it. Number one- dice raw dice raw dice raw dice raw dice raw dice raw porn dice raw dice raw dice raw dice raw. I listen to the roots for the soulful beats, the melodies in the hooks, and BLACK THOUGHT. Dice raw absoulety ruins at least one song for me by coming out of nowhere talking about crack with his loose ass, barely fitting the bar style. So fuck dice raw they would be wise to stop inviting him to the studio. And number two- wtf were they thinking with the outro? I can’t listen to cacophony. Ever.

Other than that, very solid album. But fuck dice raw for real.

I agree, way to much dice raw, but P.O.R.N. killed in my opinion.

Yes. Upon closer inspection of the tracklist, I got nothing against porn. i don’t think he was a conscious part of that list, I just don’t like the whole “let’s lean on dice raw, porn, and truck north on like every song” mentality they’ve had ever since Rising Down. Black Thought is better than that he can write great songs by himself. Just my personal taste. Never dooooo what they do what they do what they dooo.

The more listens I give this album the more I like it. It’s surely not their best work but I enjoyed the entire thing still. Loved the Big Krit track

Are you talking about One Time? His verse isn’t out of place in the narrative.

^ yes. And I know it fits the narrative but in my opinion- thats just an excuse to cover up his comfort zone, it’s still a rap cliche and it was still very poorly executed. I just really hate his style a lot.
