General Discussion Music 2017

I figured we should keep the trend going and talk about albums/EPs that we’re anticipating.

I think one for me is DEFINITELY anything CL related. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a full group project from them. I’m also very interested to see what happens with Quintic this year.

The only album I truly care about at the moment. Also looks like Graham Obrien is producing on it.

Lol I didn’t even have to open this thread, I knew your reply would be about the new Sadistik album. Lol. I can’t wait for it either. Number one on my list of anticipation. Dope that Graham O’brien is producing on it. Would be even doper if Moon & Pollution (Graham O’Brien & Molly Dean) were on the album. Still I’m sure this will be album of the year.

That two-month period from announcement to release.. wooooooooo

Looking forward to the pre-orders, tracklist, etc.

Tour announced yesterday. Bummed there’s no Texas dates. Another announcement coming today, hopefully single or pre-order info.

Peace - here’s a new musical project I just debuted. It’s a duo I’m a part of called Glass Meadow. Here’s the first track we just released:

Appreciate any listen. Thanks blue school.

^ Trademark Cosmonaut flow over dope beats and a tight AF groove. Get it.

^ Thanks homie

Hey guys I gotta post this here. Don’t think this has been done before but here some Vinyl with motion picture on it. I hope this catches on and others do this (assuming this has never been done). Music by Melody’s Echo Chamber. She has a new album coming out in a few days. Looking forward to it but thought this Vinyl art is something everyone should see.

I’m really loving that new Sixo album The Odds Of Free Will. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I found myself tearing up a few times on the first few listens.

I would actually love to get Tones opinion on this album because I feel like he would love it haha. It’s super melancholic and dark.

I’m listening to it now, matt. Very nice.

Dude….. sooooooooooooooooo good. Even down to the album artwork. Absolutely brilliant.

Got it on rotation with Devin the Dude’s Acoustic Levitation. Very Happy

That’s a good level of variety right there.

My rotation this week is Sixo, Devin, and Glass Meadow. Thanks for the posts, all. Digging all of them.

I haven’t posted on these forums in about 4 years. I really been out the loop when it comes to new releases for hip hop. if you guys got any recommendations lmk. i definitely wanna check them out especially anything Qn5 related. just started listing to Substantial’s “the past is always present in the future” and i love want i’m hearing.

I got into Vince Staples on that late pass mode earlier this year. Summertime ‘06 was in solid, non-stop rotation for at least a few months.

His new album (Big Fish Theory) is basically rap over Burial-esque beats. Straight up. I heart it.

Party People >> BagBak >> Rain Come Down is on some other shit.

This remaster of OK Computer (OKNOTOK) is fucking insane. How in the world do you touch up an album that’s still ahead of its time 20 years after its been released? I have no clue but Radiohead did it.

I just never warmed to Radiohead at all, I’m afraid.

I completely understand. Their music is definitely not for everyone.

I think its time for a new album from The Roots.

I checked out your mixtape after Tone recommended it on Twitter, and I really enjoy a lot of these tracks!
Are you the one producing or rapping - or both?

New Appollo Brown & Planet Asia. “Anchovies”

This new Sadistik album is probably his best album so far to me. Absolutely incredible. Easily my pick for AOTY so far.

the production on all the glass meadow stuff is really, really good.

hey, ive been playing keyboard in a dreampop/shoegaze/triphop-y band called The Morelings. they’re releasing an album on 9/26, and the first single/video is up here, check it out:

my favorite on the album though is the 2nd single/video, im really excited for that to come out in the next few weeks.

Any fans of Deca here? His album The Ocean from 2013 got a huge amount of plays from me and was my AOTY. He had an instrumental project last year with 2 vocal tracks but it just wasn’t enough. He’s dropping a new album tomorrow though, The Way Through. Ive already pre-ordered the vinyl cause I know its going to be epic.
