Damn near impossible. Some programs will do it for a high price, but it usually ends up sounding like shit anyway.
You guys ready for how I did it. I won’t even charge you a dime.
Rename to .mid
Thats the big ol trick.
And I now have a ringtone of pervert (thx dwilli for sending the clip to convert) and one of tone’s verses from line drop.
I have off today so I’m going to make a plethora of QN5 ringtones and I’ll post them up in here and maybe skybox. Just give me a min cause I gotta cut and convert all these things. And the mp3 -> midi conversion take a long time
Arete give me a min and let me research your phone for a bit.
EDIT: Hey tone let me know if you don’t want me posting these, but if you want you guys can post the ringtones I make on your page somewhere I don’t care. Right now they only work for LG Phones but I’m researchin how to make them for other phones as well. Give me a bit.
Alright Arete, you have two options with that phone.
One:
Buy the cable that connects your phone to the pc and transfer them over that.
Two:
Use a website that creates SMS (Smart Messages) to send a ringtone to your phone.
I’d go for option one, especially if you will be sending a lot of ringtones, the cable would probably pay for itself after a few ringtones. Those webpages are a pain in the ass and time consuming.
That second link has some additional links to pages about your phone.
I have no freaking clue how those SMS work but if you really want I could give it another look. My advice is cop that cable. You will probably still need to do a little converting but its better than holding your phone up to a speaker and recording. I used to do that till i figured out some sheisty ways to get it to work on verizon.
Another idea, try looking for forums for your cell phone, I’m sure there are some trons somewhere that figured out how to get that shit to work on your phone. Thats how I figured it out on my phone.
I don’t yet know if it’s going to work for me.
I just sent the e-mail to the address.
But for those who need the key for the Converter,
Go to this link:
well, your phone is a bit different i think, that is for LG models, the nokia might use a different format. I believe your phone is capable of playing real player format, .rm
That may be a possibility but I’d have to read up on it more.
i dont know how many people have a blackberry but any song you have downloaded to your phone can be set as a ringtone….if you go to music, then pick the song you want, press the menu key then chose “set as ringtone” your ring starts at the beginning of the song, so some songs with a quiet start may not be that great to use. I loaded all my songs to my phone from CD that i had copied to my computer.
