yo is this for sure 18+? cause i was pumped to go when it was first announced as an all ages show then it changed back. then pack posted a bulletin on myspace having it listed as an all ages show again. i dont know man but im afraid i wont be able to see my favorite artists ever up close. someone put me outta my misery. fuck.

Yep, noticed that AFTER THE FACT, but this is the weirdest thing, NO PRE SALE TICKETS!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever went to a show without buying a ticket first, even shows that we put on we do pre sale tickets.

That was a bit true… That one crew was doing like the weirdest group dance moves, I didn’t think they showed much skill but learning a very slow routine… Not a break dancer though, so tough for me to comment…
The rest of the bboys, like DefCon5 from PDX was ill…
The battle was, mostly cuz no one knows how to battle except iLLmacuLate out here… Honestly, I think the best battle I saw was him and 9DM way back…
Forget that shit though… That was just part of the show, which I honestly think they could have done without, but none the less, it was atmosphere…
I was fairly pitched from plenty of Hennessy so I got a nice laugh out of both the BBoy and MC battles… (I HATE YOU! You’re Ugly…)
Anonmis, part of the now defunct Sound Godz? Ha ha, Kagz, how you know him? Thats hilarious… Anonmis is right when he says that Salem does not have the bigger scene, but they had the money and place as well as people to pull it off, weather they made out even or not, they did a wonderful job at bringing probably THE BEST tour I’ve seen in awhile (and I just saw Ghost and M1 last month).
Session started the show off nice, got the crowd a lil warmed up, but I don’t think anyone really knew who he was, so it was still a little dead till Pack came out.
He came out jumpin around and gettin’ all crazy, really amped up the real crowd, and the reason I say real crowd was cuz there was a lot of students that just came because it was free and something to do, which is cool and all, but some of them were rude and very annoying, but nuff said, the major part of the crowd was good, small but its Salem.
Then Tonedeff came out and that’s when the show took off, DJ Hyphen spinnin and droppin the gems while tone just ripped it.
Most of the people probably thought I was nuttz spittin each verse I knew back at Tonedeff, but that’s what MC’s feed off of, the energy they create fueled by the return of energy from the crowd… Tone was rippin it, did really well, considering we all stood around for like 4 hours nearly till he got on stage (Doors opened at 7:30 and Session got on the stage at like 11 or about that).
Tone really “burned the bitch down” and in my eyes stole the show.
CunninLynguists came out but without MR SOS, which is understandable since Natti kinda came in to fill the void.
Kno is a funny man, serious and a very great performer, for being a more production minded on A Piece of Strange, it shocked me a little. Deacon’s voice was a bit worn out soudning, no dissing, so it was a little hard to hear him with the universities lacking equipment, but it happens, didn’t ruin the show for me a bit.
Natti was a shock to me, but damn that guy is really amazing too… As for being one of the most influential groups in the last few years, these guys really brought it to us, the few that stayed till midnight when they came on.
If that show had started at like say 5, for the battles, had a break at like 7 or 8 and came back to do the show, it might have turned out a bit better, but I’m not complaining, show was sick, battles were fairly weak and easy to call the winners.

After watching the DVD that comes with Archetype, I have got to say that Tonedeff has to be the most creative and inspirational PERSON in the business today.
As well as him, hearing his fellow emcees and producers say the same thing and talk him up so much, just amaze me how much work one man can do and get the respect they deserve, from the one’s who matter; the one’s he surrounds himself with.

Next time though, Tonedeff, please come to Portland, I’ll do whatever it takes ya’ll to come back.
Oh, and before I forget, was Kno really serious about that Bend shit? When he was 10, skiing down Bachelor?

haha i saw a poster for this today inside this locked room at willamette. i tried my hardest to unlock the door and steal the poster, but no dice. it would’ve made me feel better for being under 18.
oh and salem somewhat has a hiphop scene. willamette had this festival/fair thing today and there were a few dope rappers there!
