BIOGRAPHY
This star in the making was born and raised for the early part of his life
in Bronx, NY. Session was weaned on the music of hip-hop's golden age,
which taught him early on, the importance of lyrical skill and creativity.
Although, he moved to Hartford, CT at an early age and didn't heed his calling
as an MC until much later on in life. His destiny...his birthright, would
eventually lead him smack in the middle of the music and its culture, returning
to the Bronx to fulfill his dreams.
An amazing artistic development rate has from his initial pennings at the age of 17 to his current breadth of skill has occurred over just 4 years. Early on, while still in the infancy of his career, Session won the recognition of the legendary group, EPMD and was recorded as member of the notorious Hitsquad. After recording many tracks with the duo's help, (including a collabo with Rob Jackson), they eventually parted ways.
Shortly after, he's been featured in The Source Magazine's "Off The Radar" column, XXL Magazine's 24HourMC's License To Spit, Import Tuner and URB . Also, he has graced many mixtapes, including drops for Philly's Mixtape DJ of the Year '(01) Meddafore (PA), DJ Snoyl (NY), and Japan's Hip-Hop sensation, DJ Honda and Sickamore.
With the help of online promotion to showcase his music, Session managed to create a huge following. In a span of 5 months, his site received over 50,000 hits (a huge amount for an unsigned artist). In 2000, he caught the ear of Tonedeff, who invited him to collaborate on a new project called Extended F@mm, as an attempt to capitalize on each other's fanbase and create some innovative music together. Two years later, the result is Happy F*ck You Songs (Nov. 02) which was released on QN5 Music and met with a blaze of critical acclaim from The Source Magazine, URB & BPM.
Other ventures include a collaboration with local pals, Pharcity, which was met with heavy rotation for their 12" Single at local clubs and on Hot 93.7 (Connecticut's largest Hip-Hop station), with the reggaeton flavored anthem "Toma!" Not to mention a slew of collaborations with the likes of Lil Flip, Grafh, Royce Da 5'9", Stat Quo, Stimuli and many more.
Although he's already through recording his debut album, Spicasso for QN5 Music, Session is hunting for that ever-elusive major label deal. He has recorded several bangers produced by, street legend, Domingo (Fat Joe, Big Pun, Eminem, Kool G Rap), is currently working with Elite (Ruff Ryders & QN5). With a restored fire in his heart to achieve stardom, he's hit the pavement of NYC performing in and around the city at any opportunity, and spitting mixtape drops for whoever asks.
Already a master of rhyme schemes and descriptive content, there's no telling to what ends his talent may go. You can expect to hear Session's name mentioned among Grammy nominations sometime in the future.
