| fmaniacs make some noise! I can't hear u, I saaaaiiiiid, make some noooooooooooooooooooiise!! now repeat that 3 or 4 times and that's what passes for a live show now a day. IT'S FINALLY HERE! whutduzFMstand4? will be released on june 13, 2006, 2 days after my birthday. this is what it all comes down to. 7 years of saying "yo my album will drop this summer" and I'm finally telling the truth! this must be what its like knowing you have a son on the way, because I created this album from within myself. I aint tryin to get all"deep" but the coming of this album is a beautiful thing. the past year working on it has been a crazy experience. not only was I writing and recording like a mad man, but the behind the scenes shit as well. I never spoke up on it, but I'd been approached by a few bigger labels to take on this album and with tone and qn5's blessings I persued all leads. a few of them were full of shit but a couple put some really good offers on the table. and those "good offers" are what usually end rappers careers. the $ is always good, but putting a few bucks in ur pocket doesn't mean they're fully behind your project. and the end result is either shelved or poorly promoted albums and people wondering why underground artists don't sell. cats don't wanna promote the record so it can sell more than 5,000 copies, but want u to pay for a $10k sample out your budget. the truth is a lot of these small labels with major distribution get a budget and a quota. meaning sony or warner bros will give them $xxx,000 for __ releases. what these label owners will do is use that money to payroll a staff of maybe 7-8 people and then have a few extra bucks to lure in hungry artists and offer small advances (your advance is your album budget, not pocket money). they try to cut as many costs on the project as they can so they can keep more to themselves. they also try to lock you down for at least 2 albums so that u can help them meet next years quota whether u like it or not. so after they spend almost $0 on your album and you only scan 300 copies the first month, they can legitimately say to other hungry artists"underground rappers don't sell, here is the scans to prove it, u're lucky I give you any money at all". it gets a lot deeper than that, but I'll save that for another time. so after 5 or 6 months of goin back and forth with these labels and getting absolutely nowhere I decided to just put the record out independantly with qn5 backing me. because I would have had to do the same amount of work if the way some of these labels be half assin, I might as well own my shit while I'm at it. so this album is truly a gift from me, to you the fans. fuck the "industry". with that being said, support that shit, bitch! cats have been asking me for the past few years about this album, and now you have 3 months notice to cop the shit. there's no excuse. I'm even giving a dvd away for FREE when you order it in advance. this is a 100% qn5 music project, no middle man labels, no high budget, and no collabs with the hot rapper of the month. this is all packfm like you've never seen before. also look out for me and my homies cunninlynguists and tonedeff in a city near u on the qn5 spring cleaning tour '06. trust me, u haven't seen a live show til u've seen us rock! keep thinkin its a game....nigga! |

happy new now fmaniacs! QthousaN5 is over. and what a year it was, albums, videos, shows, pretty productive if u ask me. now its time for 2000-Sick, the year of the plague! so I figured I'd set it off once again with a bang. last year when skillz claimed he wasn't gonna do a rapup I figured I'd step in and fill the void and do one of my own. I guess I did a pretty good job of it because people kept askin me to do one for 2005, but I don't want to be the rapup guy anymore than skillz does(so he says). so this time I figured I'd flip it a lil something and do the 2006 Rap-Preview. check it out and have fun listening. now its time to get down to business. my new years resolution this year is to wake yall muthafuckas up. cuz apparently people are still sleepin or hibernating even. my album is finished and ready to drop and yall are GOING to pay attention. I toured about 30 cities last year by myself and this year I'm bringin the camp with me so people can see the freshest live show in the game. its easy to diss wack rappers by name (and trust me I will) but u also gotta show and prove. my goal is to bump 3 wack muh'fos out of everyones top 5 this year and I got the ammo to do so, its called "whutduzFMstand4?". sounds cocky (pause), I'm sure it does, but apparently being humble isn't working too well. so right now I'm declaring war on all the boring, no flow having, wack beat rappin, non creative, trend following ass rappers that was gettin jocked in 05. and if anybody takes any offense to anything I say, bring it, I been waiting. (damn pack, why u mad?) cuz people can only sleep for so long until somebody has to smack the shit outta them to wake em up. happy new years :)

if u are reading this, you're an fmaniac, and you're damn proud of
it....
soooooo word, its crunch time. I've finished the last bit of recording
for my album. and everything is being mixed and sequenced for your
listening pleasures as we speak. but don't get too excited just yet,
that doesn't mean the album is going to drop in 3 weeks. it'll still be
MONTHS before you see that FM symbol on the shelves of your favorite
store, there's so much more involved to releasing an album than just
finishing the songs and making a pretty cover. especially for an indie
artist like myself. the past 2 months have been the most stressful
ever.
as u can see I had to stay behind from my european tour to finish this
album and meet certain deadlines. every day something different would
pop up to just make me wanna pull my hair out. and now that its
finished
I'm still dealing with bullshit on the other side of the game. so
without trying to sound too vague, I'm working on a situation that will
be super beneficial to my album and qn5, so just be a little more
patient knowing that you WILL see a packfm album early 2006. in the
meantime I'm happy that the weight of writing has been lifted off me
and
I can finally relax and knock the dust (literally) off the xbox and
finish the games I put on hold as well as take advantage of the fact
that the coming of 360 has made reg xbox games cheap as hell! the other
day I bought 3 games for $12. maan that's perfect for my budget.
speaking of games as I'm sure you've heard by now, a track from my
album
has been chosen by pdiddy and badboy for the soundtrack of the new marc
ecko video game "getting up: contents under pressure" so make sure u
pick that up because the limited edition version of the game comes with
the soundtrack cd. the version of the song on the game is a remixed
(beat) version of the song on the album. both versions were done by
deacon the villain. well that's all for now, I'm tired and I'm trying
to
get back to destroying army bases and I have to figure out how to get
around this collapsing tunnel. so here's something for you in the
meantime...

are the fmaniacs in the house,,,,heeeeeeeeeeeelll yeeeeeeeeeeeeeea
whattup yall, I'm back up in thia after 6 months. and as usual the
reason I've been away for so long is I'VE BEEN BUSY! but being busy I
got a lot of shit done as well. for one you all see how well the
megashow went this summer *pats self on the back* I wanna thank
everyone
in the crew and all the fans who came out, it was an experience I'll
never forget. also I'm sure by now you've peeped the stomp remix produced by elite with bad seed, session, copywriite, poison pen,
archrival and sean price. and the stomp video is also finally complete.
but most importantly I've been putting the finishing touches on my
album. this album is coming out remarkably well and I guarantee its
well
worth the 6+ years you heads have been waiting. I'm also preparing to
go
on a european tour for the freestyle dvd with craig g and punch &
words.
we're going to be hitting up more than 20 european cities in a month.
I'm really excited about this, I've only been to europe once before and
I can't wait to go again. that's not all I've been busy with, but its
all I can speak on at the moment.
since we're on the subject of
speaking
on things, recently I did an interview for a website www.hh-hq.com
where
a comment of mine has drawn some attention here's the quote:
ar: So man I have to ask this how do you feel about the current state of hip hop as it reflects to what you are trying to do and who are some of the more mainstream artists that you are feeling right now? Also, If you could work with any artist that you have not worked with yet who would you like to do a track with?
packFM: Well right now hiphop, mainstream and underground alike, are full of some of the most trend following sheep ever. That goes for artists, media, radio, managers, etc. Its been like that for years and is actually starting to die down because people are sick of the bullshit, but you have the people in the game who's lifeline depended on those sheep and they're trying very hard to keep that bullshit going. People want good music, but they get fed gimmicks with a good music mask. Even the people who say they don't have a gimmick, have a gimmick. If you say you're trying to bring back that early 90s De La/Tribe sound, to me that's a gimmick. Especially when your music couldn't hold a candle to Tribe and De La. De La and Tribe were not boring. I'm also sick of people trying to "bring it back". The 90s is gone, I'm trying to hear some 2006 music. But I can go on forever about that, I'll just be happy when people recognize good music again. As far as mainstream, I'm checkin for cats like Kanye, Jay-Z, Busta, Redman and Eminem still. I was never much of a Nas fan, but I'll still check for what he does too. When it comes to artists I haven't worked with, I definitely wanna get on a song with Redman one day.
the immediate response was that I'm taking a shot at little brother.
not
quite. I'm taking a shot at the whole "bring it back" movement. common
said it best "it aint 94 joe, we can't go back" why are people so stuck
on the 90s?? I'm sure artists like tribe and de la miss the days of
free
concerts in the park but they didn't make every song sound like "la di
da di", they created a NEW sound and made a movement out of that! you
can't expect hiphop to move forward if u keep trying to mimmick the
past. the fake primo beat and the scratch hook sound is over. try to do
something new, its time for new hiphop. that's what we're about here at
qn5, new hiphop. the 90s era wasn't dope becuz of the sound, it was
dope
because of the vibe, the lack of bullshit and fluff. people fail to
realize so they try to make music thinking that's gonna bring that vibe
back. and the result is dated sounding boring music. and its boring
because we've heard it all before. we cannot expect the hiphop culture
to survive if we don't move FORWARD. we need mc's to be innovative,
what's the point of doing something that's already been done. what
happend to mcs who came up with new rhyme schemes and concepts, if
people just stick to the same old formula because they think "that's
real" then its going to get old and people will just move on to another
trendy genre of music (its already happening). hiphop got where it is
today because it steadily evolved that's how jayz stayed on top, he
kept
evolving like him or not. taking it back doesn't do shit for the
culture but make it stale. that's what I'm addressing, I never said
anything about little brother. I don't know them dudes, so I have no
real reason to "diss" them, whether I like their music or not. some say
I knew people would think of little brother when I made that statement,
and I made it anyway. they are absolutely right, its not my fault that
they're the first group that popped into your head. and I'm not gonna
hold my tongue to spare someones feelings in hopes of getting a 9th
wonder beat. so that's all
I have to say about that right now, if it comes up again, I do have
more
to say.
anyway, when I get back from europe, I will have lots of stories and
more announcements to make. but in the meantime...

guess
who's back....back again....yes its pack....um...packfm. whats bueno people
of fmania. it's been a real busy month gor the kid. i've been trying to
finish the album, do shows here and there and all the behind the scenes
crap that comes along with it, while trying to find time to eat and sleep
in between. but at the end of the day i cant complain as long as i get
things done. a few weeks ago i gathered all the troops together to film
the video for my next 12" single "Stomp". most of you should
be familiar with the track and if u arent go peep it in the audio section.
so i got up with kareem eduoard and michael wolf from wgh films and came
up with the concept for the video in december and then after scouting
locations the night before the shoot, we switched up the idea completely.
i called up the plague along with a few other associates and told them
to all be ready for the shoot by 4pm saturday. around 4:30 i'm on location
and the only person who's arrived is breez evahflowin. not even the director
has shown up yet. closer to 5pm kareem and michael show up and we start
setting up the solo performance shots. by the time we're ready to start
taping it's pretty much a full house. on set we have breez evahflowin,
poison pen, bam, debut, archrival, blitzkrieg, wildchild, gms, mecca,
and session....but wait, no tonedeff! we start shooting as much as we
can without tone. everyone is bugging out during the various takes and
we have fun and eventually tonedeff shows up so we can get on with the
actual plot of the video. we set up for the main scene and let me tell
you how hard it is to give more than 10 people direction, i honestly felt
like a third grade teacher. after everyone is given their role assignments
we go for the first take...which pretty much ended in blood shed. as soon
as kareem yells "cut" i go to give debut a pound and noticed
that my hand is dripping in blood and he has a busted lip. so we took
it down a notch for the rest of the shoot. 5 hours later after we finished
shooting everything we were all beat up and dirty but knew that it was
worth it for the footage we captured. the next day was pretty much designated
to solo performance shots and the "concert" scene. once again
everyone is late but it's ok, we have a larger window of time so i'm not
tripping too much, just slightly ticked off. the first scene was to be
filmed in a graffiti filled basement off my old college so we had to wait
in the cold for someone to come sign us in...finally we found 2 girls
who were down to get us in (no pun intended). we shot for about 2 hours
and a few of the students came down to watch and we gave them a nice lecture
on what a waste of money college can be, but still gave them the "stay
in school" at the end. after that we set out to get more solo shots
underneath the highway near the naval yard. from the playback footage
that i saw everything came out super tight. finally in the freezing cold
and snow we headed off to the pyramid to shoot the live concert scene
at the legendary eow. we watched a few of the open mic acts and then the
whole plague along with icon the mic king and kwote scriptures took the
stage and stomped like our lives depended on it. once again great footage
captured.we basically tried to step up the game for all the underground/independant
artists out there. if heads are serious about being able to compete with
major labels, you gotta play the game like you are. of course my video
wont be played on b.e.t. and mtv, but there are outlets for it. and as
hot of a song stomp is, its not gonna be played on hot97 or any clear
channel stations, but we can still dominate all other radio outlets. qthousand5
was more than just a cute phrase we came up with...it's very very real.
get familiar! Useless

hoooooly cow an update!
whats up fmaniacs, im just lettin yall know i'm still alive.
things have been real hectic for the past few months. i go through a lot
just to keep the name alive and bubblin. and sometimes it seems like its barely
working
i'd like to say that i've been working on my album, but to be truthful the last
song i wrote was
stomp back in july. no the 2004 rapup doesnt count as a song, it was a freestyle...ironic
thing is
that freestyle got more attention than any song i've released in the past 7
years.
music bizness is a funny game. its just like high school... a bunch of cliques
and as much as everyone complains about the way the industry works, they still
keep it goin
just on a smaller scale (less $ involved). see i've been trying to get by on
"talent"
instead of playing the name game and other forms of payola and dick riding.
i dont hang out with
the "cool kids" and play u scratch my back i'll scratch yours.
i dont do tracks with just any rapper that got a name so the lil piss ant followers
will check for me
i dont have the budget to pay radio dj's and magazines to give me the props
i deserve.
all i got is this strange ability to make words rhyme. and i'll say it since
nobody else will:
i'm pretty good at it. but unfortunately i'm takin the back seat to the safe
rappers who are boring as hell
and still trying to make rap from 1996. thats not good for hiphop, hiphop needs
to progress you idiots
the 96 "golden era" wasnt about the sound, it was about the purity
and love for hiphop. the lack of industry politics
thats what needs to be brought back. some people dont get it. have you ever
noticed you dont see
many features on me or my squad in the press. yet you always see the same articles
about the same 5-10 underground rappers
even tho their music isnt that dope? ask yourself why is that...is it because
my squad isnt up to par with them musically?
hell no...it has nothing to do with talent...just incase people didnt know that
by now
so anyway i'm at a show. and there are some relatively unknown rappers on stage.
they're not really great
but they do their thing. and i guess they go home and get up and work in the
morning.
and im sure they're happy with their musical status. and i asked myself...why
do i do this shit
i havent come up with an answer yet..i just asked myself the question a few
hours ago.
but in all seriousness...its so hard to make this rap shit seem worth it. i'm
very appreciative of
everyone who considers themselves a packfm or qn5 "fan" and actually
believes in me
i believe in myself...and i figure i didnt come this far for nothing. sorry
if im bitching and moaning
i figure its better for me to let it out here than write another complaining
rap...got enuff of those
well lemme just say this...anything i got...i got pretty much by myself
i'm my own publicist, booking agent, promoter, designer and manager and i always
have been
and why dont i have someone else doing this? because nobody else wants to do
it for me and i dont trust
the ones that do... so when does my album drop? when i get a f*cking chance
to finish it :)
now peep this

to admit it" silence...now of course i heard where it came from so i

droppin a quick note to the heads who still checkin for the kid. did you know
i've been doing these fmemoir installments for a year already? anywayz as u

recordin and alotta "handlin bizness". i'm actually starting to feel
like a rapper haha. so people always ask me whats next and if i'm working on
new shit... of course i am!!! since the last update i've done alot of recording,
some for my album and some for other projects. the joints that arent for my
album will be included in featured material vol.3 which should drop in late
june or early july. theres some hot joints on this one so if u havent copped
volume1 and 2 i suggest you make sure you have them both so you can truly see
my progression as an artist and get the proper build up to my debut album, dont
sleep! i'm also getting ready to shoot a music video for "forevershine".
the video will be directed by kareem eduoard of wgh
films. it'll be included in the enhanced portion of volume3. hmm what else?
been doin a few shows lately. unfortunately they werent all promoted right so
some of them had small crowds but hey we rock the house like its 20,000 people
everytime. after the single and volume3 drop i think i'm going to do a lil mini
tour with some of the fam, like wordsworth, cunninlynguists and icon since we
all have records dropping around the same time. still working that idea out

what's the drill bits fam-a-lam-ham-sammich.
it's like 2am and i just got in from the substantial album release party. homedude
did his thing and repped efamm and the plague quite nicely, thats whut i'm talkin
bout! it's a new year and there's mad room for my fam to come up and make noise
like we should be. i've been on the low for a while. i'm being real methodical
about every move i make and i'm taking my time. i got alotta product that will
be dropping by march and april so just sit tight. this year is definately gonna
be qn5's year. i'm not even allowed to speak on the projects we have in store
for yall but it's very serious. enuff tooting my own horn *toot*. so substantial's
release party was held at end of the weak, which is also the longest running
weekly open mic in nyc. so b4 he rocked they did the open mic portion of the
show. and i just wanna ask one question...is rapping that hard? sometimes heads
should really step back and ask themselves if they sound cool? and be honest...then
ask again..and then get a 3rd opinion..and if they still think they sound cool....that's
a prolly a sign that they don't sound cool becuz the best artists are usually
their own worst critics. the problem is the whole "show some love"
attitude...too many times when someone gets on stage and stinks it up..in order
to spare feelings people will say "show him some love" when cats should
be walking away to the sound of crickets. now i'm not sayin cats should get
booed or have tomatoes thrown at them..but if they hear cheers for some weak
undeveloped shit...they'll never learn to step their game up. however i hear
people say "it's hard to get up there and spit in front of all those people"
well apparently not if u can get cheers and applause for any and everything
u spit. my suggestion is this....if u see someone on stage...and u're not entertained
by them...just be quiet....dont boo...dont cheer...just dont say anything..and
if u must say something...pull the rapper aside and tell them what u think they
can do better next time...thats better than an empty pound or pat on the back
...and to u mc's out there...stop forcing the crowd to make noise when they
arent feeling u...cheers should be something natural not the result of a threat
from the mc...just learn how to work the crowd more and u wont have to worry
about them not being live enuff. haha lemme stop here cuz i dont want to come
off as some rap authority...i'm actually just speaking as a fan...and as a fan
i dont wanna see just ANYONE on stage with a mic. but hey it's a free country
right? anywayz....u know what time it is

cats and people have been showing mad love and support. it really feels good

update i've been to alotta places like kentucky, philly, mass., etc. gettin

rocking your hometown! and new york city is the best town to call home if u
ask me. the last big show we had was during cmj week out here @ the lions den.
the line up was qn5 music all stars: (me, tonedeff, mecca, session and the cunninlynguists),
juice (yeah that juice) and j live. this was probably the most packed i've ever
seen the lions den in the 3 years i've been going to shows there. and honestly
after watching the tape it was one of my best performances as a solo artist
this year. i'm going to put together one last show in nyc this year, the line
up will include: black moon, extended f@mm, poison pen and wordsworth. hopefully
it will be just as successful and i'll have pics and video clips of this years
performances to show u guys. i've also been SLOWLY completing the album. i think
everyone will be pleased and surprised at the content. i will say that i get
alot more personal than you might be used to from me. but dont stress cuz i
still got the tracks where i tear a rappers head clean off. in the mean time
i hope u got all the tracks i've given u in heavy rotation. my personal favorite
is still forvershine which can be downloaded from the audio section of the site...so
if u havent already done so....umm just click the audio link and ...u know...uh...listen
to it...and then tell your friends to do the same. on another note...i got the
black album a few weeks ago...yeah i downloaded it...sorry jay..u're still my
fav rapper...so anyway..while every song is very very good...i am not pleased
with that as an album. the songs are top notch, yet somehow it isnt put together
like an album should be in my opinion. so i am really hoping this is not jiggas
last album cuz thats not the way i wanna see him go...if we're lucky..he IS
the mike jordan of rap...and if he isnt...then more room for qn5!!!

what's up people! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time no update. the site was down for a minute *sorry..again*. and i been mad busy with these shows. all in all i'd say its been a pretty productive summer. i finished up more than half my album in about 2 weeks. then we at qn5 music took a break from all recording to be a part of 3 of the biggest outdoor hiphop concerts this summer. The Boston Peace Fest, Rocksteady Crew's 26th Anniversary and Scribble Jam 2003. First up was the Boston Peace Fest which took place in mid july. the line up for this one was heavy like a muthafugga. KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, Pharoah Monch, Mad Skillz, PMD and an after party with Little Brother and me and tonedeff. this show definitely had the biggest turn out, a reported 25,000 heads showed up at boston's city hall to watch. i headed out there with domingo, tonedeff, immortal technique and danjah. we pretty much bugged out the whole way there like with all qn5 road trips. got a chance to peep technique's album "revolutionary vol.2" before it dropped and i recommend everyone pick this up. the highlight of that whole evening was seeing krs perform live and then gettin to kick it with him a lil later on after the afterparty. krs is one tall guy, but he was mad cool and i gave him a copy of featured material and happy f*ck you songs to listen to on the way home. hope he likes it. one week later it was time for Rocksteady weekend in NYC. once again the line up for this event was off the chain and qn5 music was not about to be left out by any means. so we decided to have our official first annual qn5 music showcase @ the bowery poetry club. now i'd spent countelss ours promoting for this event, coming home at 4-7am every night from promoting at various shows, parties and events. 2 days before the show i came down with the worse case of the flu. but of course i cant rest. that wednesday i got a last minute call from crazy legz asking me to get a team together for the rocksteady 3 on 3 celebrity basketball tournament the next day and on top of that we had a qn5 rehearsal that night for the show. rehearsal let out at 3am and the trains were running all f*cked up so i didn't get home til 6am. the tournament started at 10am. so with 3 hours of sleep and the flu, i headed to the tournament to meet up with my team: icon the mic king and headline. the other teams were wordsworth, baby power and punchline, the rocksteady squad: crazy legz, grandmaster caz and bobbito, the team of pumpkinhead, mazzi and ?????, and the cold crush bros. in the first round my team played pumpkinhead's team and wordsworth's team played the cold crush team. we won our game by 2, and wordsworth won his game. next round we played the rocksteady team. now for those who dont know, bobbito is NIICE on the court!*see the nike commercials and his dvd*. and i am already dog tired cuz i have the flu and our team has no subs at all. so it was pretty much icon and headline holding down the scoring for the team, while i played point gaurd. i was able to catch a steal off bobbito which is an accomplishment in itself the way he handles the ball *pause*, but then my tired ass goes out of bounds with it. so we lost that game by one point. but since the tournament was double elimination rules so we had to play pumpkinhead's team again. so i'm tired as hell and i have no idea whats going on, i damn near passed out on the court. all i know is one minute i'm guarding pumpkinhead, the next play he brings in a ringer who starts hittin all these 3 point shots. i dunno how much we lost by, but i do know that they lost to bobbito's team in the finals. so after 5 hours of basketball, i go home and literally collapse. i slept a good 8 hours and then had to drag myself out of bed to the third earth music showcase and the rocksteady/eow mc challenge to continue promoting and back up pumpkinhead on stage. props go out to breez evahflowin for winning the mc challenge. i finally get home at 5am that night and try to rest up for the qn5 showcase. that day was the most hectic day of my life because it seems like i had to do cd covers for EVERYONE. somehow i was able to get all my stuff together for the show and i got a ride to the show from kwote scriptures and icon the mic king. i got to the show 45 minutes early and there was already like 50 people lined up outside to get in. so we get the show crackin and by the time the first act is finished performing the venue was filled to capacity and we had to actually turn people away! so all the hard work and sleepless nights paid off and i pretty much sweat the flu away on stage so me, mecca and breez evahflowin went out partying afterwards with 3 lovely young ladies and once again i didnt get in til like 7am but who needs sleep? so now its time for the rocksteady free outdoor show. every year its pretty much the same vibe, about 10,000 people show up to watch the show, politic and sell merchandise. this years performers included: freddie foxx, master killa, jean grae, immortal technique *who actually got censored*, uncle howie goons, wordsworth, jedi mind tricks, and a special impromptu performance with me, poison pen, l.i.f.e. long, and breez evahflowin backed by dj evil d. it was definitely a good day, i was pretty much chillin, still gettin over the flu so i played the low profile all day. after the show we had a qn5 photoshoot that included , tonedeff, mecca, session, cunninlynguists, domingo, akolades and elite. once that was over we all headed back to tonedeff's crib for a few rounds of halo on xbox to cap off the night. so now we finally get to the sunday indoor concert with brand nubian, jungle brothers, rahzel and dj js1, c rayz walz, pumpkinhead, extended f@mm, keith murray *who sported a bright red "f*ck you i rhyme better t shirt* and wyclef. the highlight was definitely a tie between rahzel's theatrical set and keith murray rockin the t shirt and jumpin a good 10 feet into the crowd for a perfect crowd surf. after this show was done everyone was pretty much beat so instead of partying we *efamm, Mecca, pumpkinhead and cunninlynguists* all went back to tonedeff's crib where mrs. deff had a nice homecooked meal waiting for us!. so now i get a week to rest because its time to head out to scribble jam 2003. for scribble jam we headed out a day early by car, a 12 hour ride. all i can say about the trip...it was long *pause*. we stayed at deacon the villain's crib in kentucky where thanks to his homegirls we received the ultimate southern hospitality complete with breakfast dinner and the best massages i've ever gotten! when we arrived to the venue for the first day of scribble jam, it was raining so much the rain was coming UP from the ground! so everyone who set up their booths out side had to quickly transfer all their stuff to the indoor venue.but it didnt put a damper on the rhymesayers entertainment 10th anniversary showcase in the least. it was cool to see all the fans in the mid west that come out and support underground hiphop. i got to meet alot of heads who love what we're doing at qn5 which was really refreshing to see that we're making a difference. my favorite performance of that night was brother ali who showed spectacular crowd control. later on that evening i had a convo with him that resulted in me entering the scribble jam mc battle *yes i know im supposed to be retired*. the downfall of that evening was paying $10 a plate for food that didnt even come with a f*ckin drink! but when we got back to deacon's crib there was a huge fried chicken dinner waiting for us, which more than made up for those vendors high prices. the next day we headed out early to get everything straight for our performance, this time the weather was much much better. coincidentally me, Mecca and session all wore knicks jerseys so nyc was definitely represented properly. the day was mostly different battle tournaments. the first of which was the beatbox battle where my efamm/plague partner substantial entered. next up was the b-boy battle and during this battle breez evahflowin gave an impressive showcase indoors. after the b-boy battle qn5 hit the stage and did what we do best. do to the length of time the b-boy battle took we had to cut our set in half at the last minute but we still managed to get all of our best material out. theres nothing like hearing thousands of people chanting your hooks..its indescribable. now during every show i make a point to stage dive and crowd surf. and this show was no different. however tonedeff decided to try his hand at it as well. he was not successful at all. it was more like a stage tackle. next up was the dj battle during which i took the time out to kick it with juice who was also entering the mc battle. after the dj battle they announced the contestants for the mc battle, when i heard that breez evahflowin, juice, deacon the villain, okwerdz, alius, dos noun, wreckonize, skandal the ruckus man, cashmere the pro, and rhyme fest were all going to be battling as well. i knew the competition was going to be serious. now aside from that battle that i won in may, i am extremely out of practice with battling but i had to enter scribble jam so i could at least say that i did it.in my first round i faced an mc who entered under the name "yo mama's pimp" i'm thinking to myself 'easy win', nope, not the case at all. he goes first and hits me with some shit that the crowd wasnt feeling too much until he said "this kid's so skinny eh could use chapstick as deodorant" even i had to keep from laughing at that one. so now the pressure is really on so i'm kicking freestyles and trying to think of punchlines b4 my time runs out so the first one that comes to mind is play with his name ..so i tried to execute the line "if your name's 'yo mama's pimp' she must have named you after me" but i fumbled that line pretty bad..then i covered it up a lil and said "now everybody in the place put your hands up *hands go up*...damn thats how many people know this man sucks" and it was pretty much even at that point, then when he went again he had a line that the crowd loved "b4 the battle he said he liked my shit...now i feel like a see-saw becuz we're both riding my d*ck" ..so that put the pressure on me even more...so i hit him with a few quick punches and then i fumbled a line that was critical and covered it up with "this kid is trash..nobody can save him..you're a fag...kobe bryant says you raped HIM" but it didnt get enuff cheers to get me over the hump. i knew i'd taken an "L" but i wasnt mad at all. i just sat back and watched the rest of the battle which was highly entertaining.in the end it was "yo mama's pimp" vs. rhymefest with rhymefest coming out on top *pause*. "yo mama's pimp also later revealed his real mc name as black pegasus. now you're probably thinkin who beat juice....none other than yo mama's pimp. this kid was gunning all night, so props go out to him and all of the other contestants who put on a great show for the fans.this was by far the best battle i've ever competed in. once that was over we all piled in the van and headed back to deacons crib where the ladies had prepared a huge breakfast for us. I LOVE YOU GIRLS! then once again we hit the road for another 12 hours back to nyc. and as tired as i was it was all worth it. peace to all the heads we met and kicked it and i hope to run in to yall in the near future. as for the next move...its back to recording my album so u guys can go buy it and stop asking me what fm stands for hahah. |

this way i know whut to say instead of babbling.
nothin much poppin on this side tho...been partying alot...finally recorded
another song for the album :) have patience the album is going to be a guaranteed
classic!
one person did ask m to talk about my first battle experience so here ya go:
it was 1993 my junior year of high school. i'd been spittin since i was a freshman
but i stopped briefly and had just recently decided to start rhymin again. we
were havin a cypher in the stair case and everyone was comin with hot rhymes
so i didnt wanna be the slacker and started killin shit. cats were really impressed
and tellin me that i was good enuff to battle mr. ed *the hottest mc in school*
i thought they were buggin and simply said "one of these days i'll be that
good".
the very next day mr. ed is walkin thru the halls with his boys shoutin "i'll
battle anybody!...any body!! just point em out" lucky me i'm walkin by
and my boy says "battle pack". this is the first time me and ed ever
really met and he's like "ok bring it" me im tryna back down, but
i cant really do that so reluctantly i accept. we meet up in the bathroom and
theres like 20 kids in this tiny bathroom ready to watch. they flip the coin
and mr. ed goes first "im shitty like scott tissue...i'll make pussy lips
whistle...i got women sayin 'ow' like oprah winfrey's initials...i stay funky
over tracks like a bum in the train station" etc etc he was just droppin
jewels all over. so when it was my turn peope were expectin me to be wack as
hell compared to ed. i truly dont remember any of my first round rhymes...but
whatever i said the whole bathroom went CRAZY!! and they was shoutin "it
aint over it aint over!!!" but they made so much noise security came and
kicked us out. so we moved the next round to the lunchroom....an even bigger
crowd.
i'd say 50 people are standin around us. mr. ed drops some more hot rhymes...incredible
shit. so i figured i gotta prove that last time wasnt a fluke. i remember some
of this rhyme...it went something like "when i get heated...like mike jack
u should beat it or i'll be screamin on ya ass like archie bunker did to edith
u ding bat...i got more lyrics than u could swing at with a stick...and if i
aint gettin ill....just call a doctor cuz im sick...stack rhymes like bricks
u know my skills is buildin...ya crew is filled with son's and just like soaps
they're all my children......somethin somethin...if u dont wanna see ya name
up in obituary's then u better start marchin like u was after february"
the whole lunchroom went wild! security once again kicks us out....so we went
to the gym...got kicked out again and took it out side. i'd literally been battlin
this kid all day all over the school.
so we went one more round and it was still even. then
someobody said that we should pick a word and the other
guy has to freestyle on that word. so we went one more round like that and he
got the best of me because i'd never really freestyled before, but that day
i earned everyone's respect and the confidence to battle anybody anywhere. it
took me about 6 years after that to develope a battle technique and get my lil
winning streak goin. but i gotta give it up to mr. ed cuz cats like him always
bring out the best of me...not the wack mc's.
ok now for some useless trivia :)

Whuttup
FManiacs, this is the first installment of FMemoirs on packfm.com
ok
first off let me tell you that there will prolly be no type of grammar or proper
punctuation from this point forward. also if there are spelling errors...get
over it i'm pretty sure you'll understand what i'm talking about.
this is going to be the section where i pretty much say whats on my mind that
i'd like to share. i'll prolly be complaining about people i've never met before
in my life or through an email asking me if i wan to do a collab on their album.
heres the answer for ya:
if you've been rappin for less than 4 years...nope
if i have never heard of you, met you, or chilled with you....nope
if get past the first 2...yet have no intention of releasing this song to the
public in the next 6 months...nope
if you just so happen to meet those requirements the answer is still MAYBE
not that i'm some big rap star and that people should feel honored to rhyme
with me..its just that i like to rhyme with my crew and fam..and theres still
MAD people that i roll with that i havent done songs with...so after i get that
out the way then i'll probably be a lil more open :)
so now you're reading this and thinkin...pack's an ass....nah i'm far from it...i'm
a cool guy and always down to talk or help heads out if they need advice and
shit...to prove it...here's my AIM screen name: PackFM...if i take a few minutes
to reply...it doesnt mean i'm dissin ya..it just means i'm busy...but if ya
ever wanna just chat...holler at me....u just better have something interesting
to say...none of this:
TheKiD2DoUbleTres:
yo
PackFM: sup
TheKiD2DoUbleTres: sup
PackFM: no doubt
TheKiD2DoUbleTres: word
feel me? cool.
