It's official gamers, blue schoolers and future taggers! Get your markers out, because QN5's own PackFM will be featured as one of 4 Diddy-Selected Exclusive tracks on the soundtrack for the upcoming Marc Ecko's Gettin Up videogame, along with Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli & Notorious B.I.G.

"As a graffiti artist, an MC and a donner of the Ecko Unlmtd. Clothing Line, I was honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the game," says PackFM. "'Click, Clack & Spray' is a song that I feel best represents the graffiti culture that made me who I am today."

SIDENOTE: The version of "Click, Clak & Spray" that appears on "Getting Up" is a REMIXED version of the original song that will appear on PackFM's whutduzFMstand4? LP. The exclusive remix was hand-selected by Diddy to appear on the game's soundtrack.

MARC ECKO HUMS A LITTLE DIDDY
Senor Combs working on soundtrack for limited edition of Getting Up; artists include Notorious B.I.G., Talib Kweli...and Nina Simone?

The last time we heard from Sean "Diddy" Combs in game-related news, he had swapped the "Puff Daddy" nickname for "P. Diddy" and was announced as a cast member for Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. Two months and one "P" later, Combs, now known simply as "Diddy," is back in gaming news, albeit the same game.

Atari and game/fashion mogul Marc Ecko today announced that Combs will collaborate with Ecko on the soundtrack and in-game music for Getting Up.

Mr. Ecko had nothing but praise for Combs in a statement released today. "I couldn't think of a better partner than Diddy to assist in bringing the music to life, offering his insight and enthusiasm to the development process while navigating the complexities of the music industry to assemble this remarkable collection of talent."

"When Marc first presented this opportunity to me last year, I was blown away by the passion and depth of his script and knew that we could do something groundbreaking with the music," said Diddy.

Diddy will offer four tracks that he personally put his Midas-like touch on, including an exclusive version of the late Notorious B.I.G.'s "Who Shot Ya" remixed by System of a Down's Serj, Pack FM's "Clik, Clak, and Spray," Pharoahe Monch's "Book of Judges," and Talib Kweli and Rakim's "Getting Up Anthem: Part 1."

The soundtrack features an eclectic mix of artists that seem to have been put together by spinning the radio dial wildly. Hip-Hop (Roots Manuva, Del tha Funkee Homosapien), Alt-rock (the ubiquitous Bloc Party, Kasabian), and others (Glen Brown and King Tubby, Nina Simone) all get their due in the game. In addition, Wu-Tang's RZA will donate a song for an in-game cinematic, DJ Nature is adding a few tracks, and Def Jux DJ extraordinaire RJD2 scored the game. A list of the announced songs included is below.

The Limited Edition version of the game will include the soundtrack as well as an inside look at the game's development called "Marc Ecko's Blackbook," a bonus disc featuring tidbits about the game, and a silver pen tagged with the game's "X" logo.

Getting Up has come under fire for its glamorization of graffiti. Ecko and his supporters counter critics by claiming that the craft is an art form and part of urban culture. In the game, players play as Trane (voiced by Kweli), a young man making a name for himself by spray-painting it all over the city.

Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure is awaiting rating information. The game will be released in November on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. The standard edition will sell for $49.99 and the Limited Edition will sell for $59.99.
