Tuning Out: How A Lightning Fast Rapper Finds His Focus | SOURCE: FastCompany.com

Recently, Tonedeff rocked Fast Company Magazine’s Most Creative People 1000 event in NYC. He took time out to explain his method of focusing in today’s social-networking insanity. Shouts to the gang at Fast Company for the nifty video (and the Instagator drop – haha). Be sure to comment over on their site.

6 Years into the development of QN5 as a label, the artists recount their regrets and forge ahead strengthening the bond with their fans.

ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY:
(Part 2 of 3) After famed documentarian Ken Burns, shot an in-depth film about QN5’s decade-strong history for the 2011 QN5 Megashow: Evolution, he accidentally sent the final video as an audio CD—and the label was forced to recreate the footage on a shoestring budget in time for the show. Here’s what they came up with.

a fool-proof cure-all they wanna sell ya…
believe it or not, it’s all an act to control,
when people act like they know when they actually dont…”

Tonedeff – “Ridiculous (Live @ Fat Beats NY)” – 9.3.10

PackFM – “Nasty (Live @ Fat Beats NY)” – 9.3.10

Last week, Tonedeff & PackFM hit up Fat Beats on their final Friday of existence to throw down one last time in honor of it’s place in Hip Hop history. It’s with bittersweet irony that they rocked out of the very same corner of the store they first crossed paths at over 11 years ago during the NYC battle-scene’s hey-day. It also happened to be 105° F in the store, packed wall to wall with no A/C. As always, it was done for the love.

Above are two performance clips captured by Tone Riggz of PackFM’s “Nasty” from his album ‘I F*cking Hate Rappers’ and Tonedeff’s classic first 12” single, “Ridiculous”. For more clips of QN5 cyphers and in-store performances at Fat Beats over the years, peep this video @ 1:13 & 3:30.

Remember folks, even though the physical stores are closed, you can still support underground hip hop at FatBeats.com.

Enjoy!
