1. What is your name and where are you from?

Brian J. Anderson and i was born in Virginia Beach, VA…thats where my heart is at but i currently reside in South Florida.

Blue…no reason really…but every other color is for losers.

3. How did you get into Tonedeff’s music?

I was hangin out with a good friend of mine and I was like…alright…heres a blank cd…hook it up. He threw “Spanish Song,” “Kronic Braggart,” “24 Hour MC,” “All-Star Freestyle,” “Upclose and Personal” (the old one) , and some other stuff on there and I was thoroughly impressed. So why not check out some more? He led me to the website and such and I just kept checking back.

4. Which Tonedeff albums do you own?

Underscore is all i own unfortunately…i dont have four million dollars for Ebay at the moment, otherwise i might own Hyphen. But to make up for it… my Underscore is signed

5. Have any hobbies?

Im a big fan of music (obviously). It provides the soundtrack for my life so I hold my music collection very dear to me…plus i done spent all kinds of damn money on it. But other than that, i really appreciate those nights where you just chill with close friends. Any movies that have to do with comedy is usually a plus as well. Porn is nice too.

6. You’ve been an active member of the Auralarian forum, could you explain the your custom title, “The Lumberjack”?

I got the nickname last year actually. Its a combination of my absurdly long goatee and the fact that I sell Christmas trees from late November-December…so some friends just put it all together and called me Lumberjack one day

7. Any interesting favorite Tonedeff/QN5-related stories?

No…but thank you for asking. Nah but Ive pulled the old jaw dropping silencer when people say how fast such and such rapper is. Then i pull out my copy of Asterisk:One and play “Most High” for them. 1/4 of the way through the infamous Tonedeff verse they always proceed to say “its not really that fast” and then it kicks in with a little “bieufidnfksudfiosyrnedfksudfhker eyfrisncfks ckshfjsf PLAGUE BITCH!!”... which leaves them jaw dropped and speechless. Not a HUGE deal but I dont have any cool stories like “i went to a show and tonedeff tried to crowd surf but he actually jump kicked me in the face.”

8. What’s your favorite Tonedeff song?

Love Aint…without a doubt. It just strikes a cord every time i hear it. Ive seen and felt exactly what is said and it just makes so much sense, especially when you read the lyrics along with the song. The remix is nice too. And i know thats not a Tonedeff only song but still…release Archetype and I might have a reason to change my favorite song.

9. Can you explain what an Auralarian is?

The coolest motherfuckers ever. We’re actually a cult…we rigged the last election. Or a Tonedeff fan with an appetite for music that makes you think. Its a combination of Aura, Aural (i think), and Aria Giovanni.

10. What does a typical day for Monotonous One consist of?

Monday, Wednesday, Friday i go to school and Florida Atlantic University (Philaflava bitch!) where Im interested in psychology and criminal people stuff. Then every other day where im not going to school(and some days when I am) i’m working to try and get myself through school. Not a lot of time to party…so that blows but all in all its pretty good.

11. How do you feel about Hip-Hop music right now?

Its a big roller coaster right now. It has some highs and a lot of lows. Back when it started, you just know that no one ever thought that things would get like this. But instead of crying about it, i just look for what is good out there and ignore the rest because contrary to popular belief, hip hop is not over and there IS a lot of good shit out there. People just need to quit bitching about it. Nothing will change if we bitch and complain. Shut the fuck up or do something about it. Support the artists that deserve it.

12. With the new single here and Archetype right around the corner, do you think it will be worth the wait?

It would be funny if I just said “no” and moved on to the next question…but um I pre-ordered the single and I wouldn’t be here if I thought differently. Its gonna be a fun time. im gonna listen to it…hear how nice it is…then smoke out…and let that shit really hit me.

13. What other genres of music do you like?

Im a big fan of that MoTown soul type r&b from back then, some of the old rock like the Beatles (of course) or the Kinks, or a little bit of that Bob Dylan fellow. i can also sometimes bear a little alternative rock.

14. What are you plans for the rest of QthousaN5?

Get done with this damn semester of school, make some money cause im strugglin!, buy some QN5 releases, i might be joining the Coast Guard Reserves, my sister is getting married, its gonna be a fun year.
