QN5 Collections?

As y’all already know, blue schoolers are a resourceful bunch. We’ve seen some tremendously impressive QN5 collections from cats all over the world. [See For Yourself Here]. As a matter of fact, it’s become sort of a competition amongst a few of the more hardcore collectors and I’ve seen some of our stuff on eBay for some really exorbitant prices (ie. a sealed copy of “Hyphen” for $145).

All of this stems from the fact that most QN5 releases are limited-run pressings, which is common for a small label… but being that most of our releases sell out over a short period of time and some are never repressed (ie. Vinyl Releases & Hyphen), the collection of these items has become something of a sport for those in the know.

Eventually, I’d like to put together a full list of QN5 collectible items for everyone to reference. But for now, I’d like to add to the fire a bit, with a couple items that I think would give any hardcore blue-schooler a reason to sweat.

Here are some rare items to be on the lookout for:

Breez Evahflowin – “Give It Away” (Limited Edition 45 RPM Single)

There were 500 of these bad-boys pressed up and given away (no pun intended) as a promo item for Breez Evahflowin’s FLY album release on JustBe Records. I produced the A-Side “Give It Away” (which is one of my fave beats). I have 2 of these personally, so that leaves about 498 unaccounted for. It’d be interesting to see one of these pop up on eBay.

QN5 Megashow Zine 2006

This is the limited edition QN5 Megashow Zine for 2006. 300 of these were printed and handed out to those who attended the QN5 Megashow 2006 @ CBGBs in NYC. So, basically, if you weren’t there…you didn’t get one. Of course, now that CBGBs sadly no longer exists, the value of these just shot up ten-fold. If you were lucky enough to get one of these (props to the west-coast blue schoolers who did), you’re collection is definitely on point.

Extended Famm – Happy F*ck You Songs (SEALED) w/ Inverted Cover

This is ULTRA-RARE. We discovered 2 of these in our shipment from the manufacturer. Apparently, they thought it would be funny to flip the covers and put the tasteful Squijee fuck-scene cartoon that I drew on the front instead… either that or they wanted to let us know that they disapproved in a really covert way. I have one and Kno had one (I don’t know if he still has it or not). This is about as rare as you can get with a QN5 item.
